So everyone in the ultimate universe stays dead, except of course for when they want to bring a villain back? sigh

I don't really like the fact that Osborn isn't dead. It almost makes it feel like Peter died for nothing. Killing Peter Parker was Norman's ultimate goal right? Well if Parker's still dead and Osborn's alive, than that means Goblin won and Spider-Man almost died for nothing right?

Does Dick Grayson as Batman piss you off? Does Bucky as Captain America? If not then shut the frick up because your being a hypocrite.

@astonishingarachnid I was wondering the same thing. I remember hearing so many good things about how awesome it was when people said bucky held caps shield in TWS, but this annoys them? It's something different in comics. Don't we as comic fans wish sometimes SOMEONE would stay dead for once in the comics? I mean this is something new don't we want/like something new? Haven't we been asking for that...smh

The Ultimate version of Green Goblin is one of comics shittiest ideas.
He looks nothing like the original & has completly different abilities.

Big muscle bound villains are plentyfull,Rhino..Venom..etc.
Ultimate U is so weak compared to regular Marvel U.

I'm with AstonishingArachnid. There's a long tradition of heroes having their legacy carried on by someone who assumes their moniker.

The Flash, Batman, Robin, Blue Beetle, Captain America, Hawkeye, Ms. Marvel

It's the whole premise of The Mask of Zorro.

There's really nothing wrong with how the Miles Morales thing has been handled. I say this as someone who loves Ultimate Peter Parker and hopes to see him return. If Peter does come back, it would make sense for Miles to assume another identity, and with the way the character has been portrayed so far, I think he'd quickly and gladly relinquish the Spider-man name to Peter. Until then he's using the name to honor Peter and keep the legacy alive.

"Giving the Morales character the Spider-Man ID robs both Morales and Peter Parker at the same time.
Morales just seems like some gimmick replacement we've had for other superheroes who have "died".
And to pretend someone else can be Spider-Man devalues Peter. Spider-Man without Peter Parker just doesn't work.
Marvel should cut this crap out and give Morales his own ID, even if they leave Parker dead in the Ultimate Universe."

Morales is actually a good character, and he is doing everything he does to honor Peter Parker. I would say that creating the Ultimate Comics line was more of a gimmick than Morales taking on the mantle. Having more than one Peter Parker would logically be the thing that devalues the true Spidey (616).

Morales is a keeper.

I don't see why people get so mad about the Ultimate Universe. If you don't like it, you don't have to read it. It's not even like that's the main canon marvel universe; the 616 is. It's like those people b*tching about how they so badly want AOS cancelled; if you don't like the show then just don't watch it (even though the show is so good now and I'm hearing less and less people hate on it anyway).
BeyondTheGrave
BeyondTheGrave - 5/1/2014, 5:26 PM
Everyone they've killed in the Ultimate universe has stayed dead, that's the point...it's basically marvel's testing ground for "let's see who we can [frick] with today and see what happens". That being said death of spider-man in the ultimate universe was pretty cataclysmic (see what I did there) and the final showdown was insane. It is actually surprising that Fury (of ultimate) kept osborn alive given that fact that peter primarily died because he was already injured taking a bullet for fury (read the comics some time).

I wish they would just keep one spider-man. Just keep it at Peter Parker. All these other heroes seem like cheap knock offs quite frankly. Boot off Dan Slott and hire Mark Waid for the writing duties. Give every villain a story arch, a great one, and make some brand new stories. Things that make sense and aren't so convoluted like Spider-Island. Spider-man movies can't really draw from the comics because the story arcs are so limited. All there is, is Kraven the Last Hunt, Green goblin arcs and death of Gwen. WE NEED MORE

^^^You raise some good points, but personally, I think having Peter in 616 and Miles in Ultimate is just fine. If they ever allowed for bridging of the MCU and Spidey films, I'd say Ultimate Six would be a great story to adapt. You get a built in sequel to Sinister Six and an Avengers-worthy plot besides.

Miles Morales is the only thing I like about the Ultimate Universe. But I hate that Norman Osborn is still alive. It totally devalues the sacrifice that Ultimate Peter Parker made.

All these naysayers can go suck a chode. This is another universe, where they can do what they want. All these people that are pissed about Miles being Spider-Man apparently also don't even READ the comic! So why be mad? Oh yeah, because you just wanna give your stupid opinion.

SugarYumYum - 5/2/2014, 1:46 PM
Jesus people, you already have him in the 616 universe AND the movies. Get off his cock already.

Exactly. Miles has gotten himself a nice following, let him have the Ultimate verse (which most people here hate anyway). Those that don't care for him are free to go re-watch Peter go through the same shit he's been going through for 50+ years in the 616.

@MrNiklander
To be fair, before Death of Spider-Man, Osborn was last seen in the Death of the Goblins story arc getting shot in the back of the head execution style by Carol Danvers, and that was while in his human form.

If he could survive that, surviving an ass whooping at Peter Parker's hands is no trouble at all.
