Agh... Allred. I still don't undertsand how that guy gets to work in mainstream comics, he's terrible. An don't come to me with that "he's going for a 60's/vintage style", because he's not. He's just an awful artist... I mean, look, even the perspective in the cover is messed up. And trust me, guys like Jack Kirby or Steve Ditko, you may say whatever you want about them, but in spite of their own particluar styles, they had a solid knowledge of the basics of drawing (perspective, anatomy, etc).

That Mike Allred art is just...Its amazing! He's definitely one of the best artists of the last twenty years.

It's very weird to see people here not like Mike Allred. I've never heard of it. This is actually the ONLY place I've heard it, and the first time I've seen people not like his art. He's like, one of the most critically acclaimed comic book artists of all time, up there with Jim Lee.

I wonder how many times they've had a C-list character throw down with Doom to prove they're tough? I can think of Luke Cage and Squirrel Girl off the top of my head, but I'm sure there are more.

I like and appreciate superheroy-posed-larger-than-life looking art like Jim Lee, but I also like storytelling art, like John Romita Sr. and Jack Kirby and Mike Allred, which is what comic book art is about, first and foremost.

This art is amazing. I agree with FoneBone this might be the only place I've seen people not like Mike Allred. He's one of the best artists working today.

I hate to see this book go. It was definitely up there with Young Avengers, Superior Spiderman, and GotG as my favorite Marvel launches. I love Mike Allred's work and thought this was a good use of him and fraction. I don't get the hate but to each his own.

Yeah, I really hate to see this end. This series rules. I've been an Allred fan since Madman.... I just don't understand all the hate for his work..... Did I read somewhere he'll be on a new upcoming Surfer series?

I love Allred (he's not for everyone though I guess) and I used to read FF many many years ago.

Looking at this makes me wonder....what happened?

It's fascinating to see how people either love or hate the art. Maybe there's really something to the art you have to have some kind of deeper understanding of or connection to, because I honestly think especially the last page looks just terrible.

But I'm willing to admit that this might actually be one of the rare cases of "I just don't get it". :)

Dan Slott is going to ruin Surfer. I mean that one page had awful dialogue that has never been Surfer's style f speaking. He's supposed to be refined and majestic not say things like, "Better silver down." then turn Zenn-Lavian again.
