It’s a familiar story. A radioactive spider bites a high school science nerd. Tormented by his classmates at school, disregarded by his family at home – Patton Parnell is already somewhat of a monster. Only now with all the power and none of the responsibility, venture deep into a universe where the story you know becomes as horrific as possible.

That's what you get for messing with Ant-Man's best friend Peter! He'll never forgive you!

@JackDexx that isn't funny. We had a scare at one of the schools I sub at and I can tell you first hand that it's not funny! A child dying is never funny and you need to think twice before you write something like that. People have gotten hurt and lives ruined. It's not a joke.

@striped, yea it was an absolute pathetic attempt at humor by dexx. Definitely showing his maturity level regardless of age.

Lighten up people @JackDexx made a joke, was it insensitive? Yes. But are you really going to let a comment on the internet get you riled up?

@scotty I don't think people would get upset over something on the internet. Especially on this site.

@scotty you realize all the jackasses who have done things like that started by making the same kind of jokes on the intranet and then being encouraged by other jackasses such as psycho. And others simply said oh lighten up they're just joking only to find out they weren't. But hey what else would you expect from a bunch of teens who think it's soooooo edgy and cool

That poor cat.

I thought The Thousand was always the most horrifying story. You guys remember? That classmate of Peter's who saw him get powers from the spider bite, then went back and ATE the spider. He became a collective conciousness inhabiting a thousand spiders that could infest a human body, eat it hollow and then wear the skin. Tell me this comic is more horrifying than that.

Awwww I'm all broken up that you're slightly offended. I might not be able sleep tonight knowing that. If you had a cool name I would put forth the effort to write it all out but since you don't my laziness kicked in and that's all ya get

Jackdexx - that's pretty funny.... And to the people that don't think it is, get off it. The reality isn't funny at all. But the moment you allow crap like that to take the humor out of life, then it wins. And if you can't differentiate humor and fiction from reality, then you are obviously someone with issues or looking for attention. My dad died of cancer, but that doesn't mean I'm going to be an over sensitive cry baby if someone makes a cancer joke.

@Tevii

Exactly!! I lost my mom to cancer but I don't expect the rest of the world to give up on cancer jokes (um.......they do have cancer jokes, right?) If not, let me be the first: My birth sign is cancer, my mom always said that I would be the "death" of her. Coincidence?

@loki668- We laughed and told jokes at my uncle's funeral. We had a 1970s Tye-dye, disco wake for him. It was the first time I ever tye-dyed a shirt. I think all funerals should be like that. That is my philosophy on honoring the deceased.

@ScionStorm

THAT'S RIGHT!!! We should CELEBRATE their lives!! We can mourn in private, with those who wish to mourn with us. Life should be celebrated, even after the fact.

That sounds like a cool funeral (and I HATE disco!!) That's what I love about New Orleans, they know how to celebrate a life (or shorten one :)

What @JackDexx is actually hinting at being a possible version of Peter Parker in "Coming Home" when a boy in a similar situation as Peter dresses up and attempts to shoot up the school.
So, even if he was joking, it's completely possible and was hinted at by marvel.

School shootings were funny in the 1800s, and they're still hilarious today. They're no sign of the times, just a really baffling occurrence that's been happening since the USA was founded.
Cancer jokes = also funny.

No, it's actually never going to be appropriate to joke about shooting children, with guns, in a public school, on any website.
