That’s right, it doesn’t take an X-Gene to sculpt the next generation of young mutants and Peter Parker is happy to take on his new position as the Jean Grey School’s new Special Guidance Counsellor. But keeping young mutants on the straight and narrow isn’t the webhead’s only reason for being there!

“He’s there because Wolverine asked him to do it,” says series writer Elliot Kalan in an interview with Marvel.com, “though being a teacher isn’t the extent of his mission. Before Wolverine died, he had a suspicion that something was amiss at the school and that one of the students wasn’t what they seemed. Only he didn’t know which student. It’s Spidey’s job to find the truth – though he can’t help but hope to also have a positive influence on the lives of the students.”

Though the rest of the faculty might not be down with their newest member, especially when he leads his group of students into battle against Sauron and Stegron, the Dinosaur Man! That’s right – it’s a prehistoric villain team up 65 million years in the making. And you can be there for it when the webhead swings into action with the next generation of mutants in SPIDER-MAN & THE X-MEN #1 – on sale this December!

Ugh. No interest at all. So this isreplacing wolverine and the x men? Which was another book I had no interest in. Too silly for my taste.

Sad that Marvel wasted so many trees for this comic book.

I have to say, this is actually the least stupid teamup of Spidey and the XMen I've seen. We know Parker makes a good teacher, and he's exactly the sort of outsider Logan would want to look after his students if he had his suspicions about someone. The concept isn't for everyone but a Wolverine & the X-Men was fairly successful and this is a reasonable extension of it.

So happy for this! I wanted Logan's death to affect Spider-Man (among others in the MU like Elektra, Bucky, Cap, and Avengers) and him being asked to teach at the Jean grey school is the equivalent of being asked to join the FF. They aren't Family like the FF but they're definitely close friends that have a mutual understanding of being misunderstood

"But he's not a mutant!" Isn't that what the other X-Men would say? Would they not whine about how 'nobody "gets" them'? Or that mutants handle their own problems in their own way? That's my experience of the X-Men comics in a nutshell whenever they appear alongside the Avengers and other non-mutants (who btw would actually go through the same sh*t as mutants if Marvel was more consistent with writing and didn't have the Mutant Double Standard).
You don't see the US Government deciding to build sentinels to wipe out Inhumans now do you? I mean, if a kid is born and develops his powers at puberty, STOP THE PRESSES! We need to DO SOMETHING about these muties!
But someone emerging from a cocoon after being enshrouded with mist and looking less human than before and with powers, oh that's fine because they have a Queen.

God, X-Men logic pisses me off.

Glad there is a teen team marvel book but I'm still wondering what happened to the avengers initiatives, avengers academy, braddock academy and the various other schools and students that marvel has abandoned.

What's Toad doing there? He got fired at the end of volume 1.
Is it Spider-man or spiderman because he may have spelt his own name wrong.

Gotta boycott this nonsense on sheer general principle.
Seems an awful lot like another shameful money-grab.

I get that this is a publishing house and it's their mission to make money, but hows about getting quality writers who understand the characters and write GOOD STORIES as opposed to yet another seasonal gimmick.

These guys are out of good ideas. Throwing a 'popular' character at the problem does not solve the problem. Just write good friggin stories that are true to canon. Quit with the lazy ideas/lazy storytelling/flash-in-the-pan 'pop'.

My money is going toward quality work. I'll support that.
I've been burned too often by rewarding bad behavior.

Hey, Marvel. SHAME.

He used to be a science teacher at his old MidTown High. I really liked those days. He really cared about his students. Post-OMD and "Spider-Man Teaching" is all gimmicky and with less heart. :(

Mask off, Peter Parker. Teaching students is serious, you don't need them starstruck distracted by your costume. Or don't you remember?

I'm glad Wolverine is dead, and I wish Doc Ock would have ended Peter Parker permanently. Yes, Marvel, your bullshit has turned me into a supervillain.
