Reed Richards explained it years ago. When someone goes into the past or future and changes something, it does not always affect their "present" but, instead, creates an alternate timeline reflecting the change.

Actually looking forward to this after loosing faith in the Ultimate universe I hope the all new x-men meet the ultimate X-men as their book (ult x) has gone from the best ultimate line to the worst a d a meet up could shake things up

I USED to want that.
NOW what I want is for them to use the "ultimate" universe as a dumping ground for all their movie and TV costume/plot redesigns – and to leave the 616 alone.
And by "alone" I mean un-influenced by the movies and TV. I do not care that there have been crossover influences in the past - but it's never been done on such a large scale.

Is there a certain possibility that the 616 universe and Ultimate universe will meet? Also, will there be a dynamic between the two universes as in will one try to concur the other?

I really like whats happening with the Ultimate titles this year. They clearly are on a collision course to total destruction, but then so is the 616 Marvel. I feel like soon they're going to remove the walls between the two realities and create a cinematic style comicverse.
if you want to know how this is going to happen, check out last month's Ultimate FF and pay attention to the words of Spider-Ham.

And damn, this comic has tons of (or at least some) reference to the Spider-Men crossover. God, that crossover was awesome, even if it was just 6 comic books...

I actually like the new "youth movement" of the ultimate universe. I'd like to see the All-New X-Men book end, and for them to be stuck as the new Ultimate X-Men. The X-Men have been handled horribly in the past in the ultimate U and the ANXM book has been great. They fit perfectly.

@rabid maybe? cause in this tony said the ultimates re gone and miles is going to 616 right if the merge there is no cap and whoever so they could merge and not have doppelgangers occupying the same space.
