Since Jonathan Hickman began diving in and exploring the collapse of the Marvel Multiverse the identities of The Ivory Kings and Rabum Alal remained unknown. Recently the Ivory Kings were revealed to be a group of Beyonders and now New Avengers #31 has revealed that Rabum Alal is in fact the Latverian monarch, Victor Von Doom.

As Rabum Alal Doctor Doom has gathered a number Black Swans who revere Doom as a mythic figure. It was also revealed that Doom has been op[osing the Beyonders with Owen Reece, The Molecule Man, by his side. It is unknown what role, if any, Doom and the Beyonders will play in Marvel's upcoming event Secret Wars, which Hickman's Avengers and New Avengers are currently building up to. However since Doom and the Beyonder played large roles in the original Secret Wars it is speculated that they will have crucial roles in the event this May.

So Hickman spent years building up this mythology only to reveal every single unknown was actually just a pre-existing Marvel Universe character or entity?

That's flarking stupid.

At least the Builders were original.

I'm so sick of Doom and the Beyonder(s) was almost too obvious.

Once again, Hickman is great at building mystery and tension, and TERRIBLE at delivery.
