The cover for
Deadpool VS Gambit #1 takes a not so subtle approach at mocking the title of
Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. In the preview below, Deadpool and Gambit run into one another at a popular coffee shop of all places and start to reminisce about the last time they encountered one another, which somehow also involved '
Daredevil' and '
Spider-Man'.
On second look, it actually appears to be Gambit in a Daredevil costume and Deadpool dressed as Spider-Man. Spidey's lack of spider-sense is practically a dead giveaway that's an impostor. Perhaps they both planned to rob the same museum while impersonating a superhero?
As for the tagline, it sparks to mind,
Zack Snyder's reasoning for using 'V' instead of 'VS' in the title of
Batman v Superman. Snyder explained that the use of 'V' was a way to keep the film from being a "straight up versus" film, a point that many identified as patently incorrect. Regardless of whether you use 'V' or 'VS' it still means
Versus.
