I'm not sure why everyone hates the Ultimate Universe. The Homeland Security series of the Ultimates was easily one of my favorite all time.

It's also responsible for this awesome scene.

The Ultimate Universe has been, since its conception, far better than the mainstream U (Which has been constantly plagged with "big events", do-overs like Spider-Man One more day, etc).

That being said, since Ultimatum the Ultimate U has lost much of the excitement and freshness it had at the beginning.

BTW they HAVE made the mistake we had all seen coming and that I can't believe the writers didn´t: Ultimate Spider-man's events are taking place two years ahead of the rest of the Ultimate titles. However, Galactus's invasion is taking place simultaneously in all of them, without any of them bridging that two-year gap.

The Ultimate universe is like Dexter; started of extremely well n promising then sunk in quality n now offers small bursts in quality (Ultimate Spider-Man)- if this is the end for this universe, I just hope they get an epic send off.

I really hope that not JUST Miles survives the destruction, there are a few characters in this universe that are better than their 616 counterparts.

I used to read Marvel's Ultimate line regularly, back when there was only two different writers who kept the books tightly interwoven, and fresh, with creative spins on classic story elements. Ever since Ultimates 3 and when Bagley left Spiderman I stopped reading the Ultimate line.

If anybody doesn't, Miles doesn't deserves to go. My favorite Spider Man comic to read, and he probably has to go because the majority of the universe has been shit lately.

Ultimate Spider-Man sucks like a fat kid trying to eat a cupcake with a straw.

Yeah the ultimate line needs put down before it spreads any farther. I hate that they are throwing in the Ultimate line into 616 and further diluting the characters.

@Manofsteel1942, I read Amazing Spider-man for several years until its conclusion and it rarely matched the quality of Ultimate Spider-man. Also, Superior Spider-man can take a hike. Ultimate Spider-man always feels like it's going somewhere and things develop naturally rather than it seeming like the writers are struggling to figure out the next random stunt to pull (Spider Island)

The Ultimate line did give the world Samuel L Jackson as Nick Fury

^ Me too. I've seen him switch between them, but I'm not sure when he gained the power to control it.

Ultimate comics spider-man is the only marvel title I read these days, and its awesome. I would hate for it to be cancelled.

Anyone knows if Miles belong to the MCU or Sony? Wouldn't it be funny if he belongs in MCU and Marvel uses under the Spiderman name.

I like Miles ok as a character just not as Spider-Man. If he comes over to the 616 he needs a new name so he can stand on his own and not ride the coat tails of an already established character.

I like Miles but that's about it from the Ultimate Universe that needs saving. I was done after Ultimatum it when steadily downhill fast after that debacle.

I saw Ultimate as a sandbox where creators could forget the 616 rules. Meanwhile 616 would take whatever influence they wanted. I anticipated a 'merger" at some point but a funny thing happened.

MCU.

MCU came along and took what it wanted of UU and easily out-grossed both. Then MU/616 forgot the UU sandbox and took ALL influence from MCU.

So Ultimate U will be placed on the shelf right next to New Universe (and Malibu; et al).

Reminds me of Whezzy from Toy Story 2
