Since releasing the first two "4" teasers, speculation has run rampant that the title (currently known as "FF", aka "Future Foundation") will return to its original numbering with #600 and welcome the return of Johnny Storm, the Human Torch. The question is in this latest teaser image released by Marvel via Cosmic Book News, does the fact that they're using a picture of the original team indicate that he will indeed return? You can see the first one HERE and the second HERE.

Such a money grab...

they wouldn't put him on the cover like that if he wasn't coming back.

I wish this rumor would go away... Hickman just said he is NOT brining Johnny back, like two weeks ago!!!

He said he'd go more in-depth with the death of Johnny soon though, and show more of it. Johnny will appear in issue 600, because it's issue 600, but it'll just be showing some more about how he died.

Sure, Johnny will probably come back someday, like it or not, but it's not happening now, unless Hickman totally lied when he said he'd never bring him back as long as he's writing.

I don't think this necessarily proves Johnny is coming back. In a recent interview with Quesada, he said that when he was asked to do that drawing he was told he could pick any version or incarnation of the team.
This is the quote:

So, a couple of months ago, Marvel Exec Editor Tom Brevoort asked me if I'd like to do a promo piece for the 50 Anniversary of the FF. The rules were simple, do any incarnation of the FF that you want from the 50-year history and design the piece for multiple usage. In other words, it could end up being a poster, and ad or a cover.

i actually liked sentry, but i also think they should bring back nova.i believe he died at the end of the thanos imperative & i don't think his back in the comics yet.

I still think it would be funny if they replaced him with the original Human Torch and called and treated him just like Johnny, lol.

@ marvel

Nova, Thanos, and Starlord never really "died" in Thanos Imperative. They were just left stranded in that other dimension with "no possible way of returning."

but come on now, they didn't die, so you know they'll be back at some point.

Okay seriously, I was sat in the panel at Comic Con when Hickman stated that he would never bring back Johnny as long as he was writing the book.

Why is everyone ignoring this fact? This is the guy who is writing this book! Doesn't anyone do any research? This article is pointless...

Sigh soooo he died what less than 6 month ago, leave it to marvel to kill someone and bring

them back two weeks later, oh wait he never died that's right marvel characters don't die,

something happens where they are don't die like Cap he was suspended in time or something

and bucky was found by baron zemo when the rocket blew up. Colossus did not die in a

explosion when he used the cure on himself he was teleported to the break world.

The human torch death was epic he went out in a blaze of glory "no pun intended" so if they

explain that he hid under a rock or something when he got locked into the negative zone with

about a billion members of anihilus army at his face, deaths used to mean something now i

Feel like it's only to sell a few extra issues.

Watch ultimate Parker cme back in a few month just forvthe simple fact that the book is

getting so much negative yet racist feedbacks aboutvthe new spidey. I'm sure it's not racisim

for most fans but the simple fact of being a purist, just how they like wonder woman's

costume to be the way it was for past 30+ years, me personally don't care that the new

ultimate spidey is a totally different person, because it's the ultimate universe where they killed

off almos all of the mainstream characters in a single wave.

Like the new ultimate wolverine being a puny winney blond kid with weird colossus like claws

I don't like that to me Logan is wolverine and that's it, but it's ultimate so having that stamp on

it I say go totown on characters.

@ intruder

"Yeah, DC characters don't die either... they just get punched back into reality by a Superboy. lmfaooooo"

haha, yeah, that was a low point in main stream comics for sure, lol. it just goes to show that even when a character is killed in such a way that there's no possible way they can be brought back, the writers will find a way to bring them back.

@ CornDogBurglar- I'm telling you it won't be Johnny as we know it. It will be an android version that Reed builds based on the original Human Torch designs and doesn't tell Ben or Susan about it. He'll use Johnny's memories and let the team assume that it is him upon the adroid's "return."

Then Johnny will show up a few issues later and there will be two Human Torches. Not knowing what to do with the android Reed throws him in the Baxter Building's garbage bin. Ultron shows up and makes the android torch his acolyte.
