COMICS: Who Is The Traitor In UNCANNY X-MEN #1? Find Out Here!

The solicitation for Uncanny X-Men #1 teased a traitor in Cyclops' team of mutant revolutionaries and a leaked scan of the last couple of pages reveals exactly who it is and why they want to bring down Scott Summers once and for all. Check it out!

While writers like Matt Fraction and Kieron Gillen built a surprisingly solid relationship between Cyclops and Magneto, it appears as if the controversial events of Avengers Vs. X-Men were more than enough to undo all of that! As you can see from the following scans, Erik Lehnsherr has decided to betray Scott Summers to S.H.I.E.L.D. This appears to be more than a little out of character...after all, Cyclops is fighting for everything that Magneto ever wanted! Is it all just a ruse or does the Master of Magnetism fancy taking over the mutant revolution himself? Check out the scans below and be sure to sound off with your thoughts and theories on this in the usual place!

Who is gonna take Joe Q. down? The media, especially with comic online and former print publications, really put this guy on a pedestal that should never been erected in the first place. The fans en mass through blogs and whatever has to eventually man up and not be afraid to speak out about how unhappy Marvels base is. sad to say it, but DC is catching up with the flash no substance stuff too, and dump those stupid V collars Jim Lee put on the characters.

Magneto LOST his powers? And to CYCLOPS? What the blue hell? Nothing short of maybe the Scarlet Witch should begin to be capable of making something like that happen. And why does he look like Generic Bald Guy now?

No sir, I don't like it.

Besides Xavier's death he could still be mad to Cyclops for what happend in Children's crusade-story, Scott wanting to attac Scarlet Witch (even after she was ready to surrender peacefully and return all the mutant-powers lost in M-day).
BTW: the art looks terrible.

Okay, or maybe Charles Xavier flipping switches in Magneto's mind- I do seem to recall that happening at least once.

Urgh, you certainly can tell Bendis is written this due to the short spurts of dialogue.
I don't know what's more annoying. Bendis' writing. Or Magneto becoming bald. And is it just me. Or the shading. But. Is Magneto black now?

Who is the traitor? Umm... GAMBIT! No, wait... Xavier! Oh, Magneto?! Maybe I'm just stuck in the '80/'90s X-Men lore.

Magneto is a sell out and a hater. Scott (for all of his methods) has gotten the mutant race moving in the right direction again. Something Magneto or Xavier could ever do imo...
SKetCH
SKetCH - 2/13/2013, 11:50 AM
All of this makes more sense if you're staying up with all the other mutant titles from Marvel.

In 'All New X-Men', as Cyclops & Magneto are attempting to rescue a captured Emma Frost, both of their powers go haywire. Magneto, the most "love-what-you-were-blessed-with" mutant EVER, seriously FLIPS on Cyclops, claiming that Scott stripped him of his god-given birthright.

In Magneto's eyes, Cyclops has now done TWO things to prevent him from reaching his mutant uprising...
1.) He killed Charles Xavier. Why would Magneto be bothered by that? Read the preview pages above.
And...
2.) He's taken Magneto's only means, only reason, only PURPOSE for living .

You guys really shouldn't make judgement calls on story arcs AMD characters that you don't pay attention to.

Not after all that effort to show he is on Scott's side. He almost died to save Kitty in the bullet just to show he is on his side.

I smell a ruse. Cyke has an angle.

@Durango95 and Nivekian

Not that I have much love for Joe Q, but people need to get their heads out of the sand. Joe Q was replaced by Axel Alonso as EiC at Marvel, with Quesada taking the "Chief Creative Officer" role (essentially making him the go-between in regard to Marvel properties and potential license holders and the big franchise machine...when he's not too busy filming little Marvel Universe spots for Disney XD or working on a cover here and there).

The day in day out of story telling approval is on Alonso's shoulders and has been for some time now. At the very least hate the right people.

@SKeTch

Thank you for that and saving me the trouble.

If you've been reading All New X Men (which is a good read) we find out there that Magneto, Cyclops and Emma Frost's powers have changed. They have to relearn them. Magik got a major power boost though. So Magneto's powers aren't gone, just different. He's still mad about it though.

Great first issue. Magneto betraying Cyclops makes sense, a kind of King Saul- David dynamic. Magneto feels Cyclops is replacing him as the go to guy for mutant extremism, so yeah. Cant wait to see how this plays out

I don't think Magneto would sell Scott out when he's done far worse I mean power loss and killing Charles? Isn't that like Tuesday for Magneto?

The Phoenix Force bonded with Scott is what disrupted and weakened Magneto's powers.

Xavier is dead.

just finished reading it,another top notch x-title.

i don't think magneto is selling out cyclops.magneto & cyclops powers aren't working properly so they've got to stick together.

the dark phoenix killed charles not cyclops.

i believe cyclops has sent magneto to infiltrate shield & get whatever information he can & lead them on a wild goose chase.

magneto wouldn't turn on the mutants to help humans.

this cyclops mutant revolution is something that magneto would do if he ever got the chance.

Lord Huck: thank you for clarifying that. As for Xavier being dead? Let's see that stick for several years before I believe it. The only character in Marvel that anyone ever successfully killed was Uncle Ben.

betting cyclops knows or is having him do. Cyclops is one of the best tacticians in the marvel universe next to Captain America. In house of M since Cap was too old they had Cyc plan everything out. If he doesn't know there writing him.
