Attention, all Independence Day fans: Your day is just about to be made.

It's been announced that Liam Hemsworth and Jeff Goldblum will be joining the highly anticipated sequel, along with Survivor's Remorse star Jessie Usher.

Goldblum will reprise his original role from the hit flick, with the hunky Aussie actor tackling the lead role.

It's hard to believe that it's been almost 20 years since Will Smith's blockbuster sci-fi movie first hit theaters, but the next installment of the Roland Emmerich-directed franchise is set to be released on June 24, 2016.

Usher will play Smith's son in the film, which should pick up right where the 1996 classic left off.

Independence Day grossed over $800 million dollars after its massive release over, naturally, Independence Day weekend nearly two decades ago.

Emmerich took to Instagram to share the exciting casting news earlier today, by posting a photo of Goldblum and Hemsworth.

"Excited to officially announce@LiamHemsworth and#JeffGoldblum as the next two pieces of the#IndependenceDay sequel!"

Usher also posted on social media about the undeniably exciting announcement, sharing snippets of media reports about his next role.

"Guess the cats out the bag now," he shared on Instagram. "Thank you God for this blessing & thank you everyone for the congratulations!"

Dean Devlin, Harald Kloser and Emmerich have all signed on as producers to the sequel.

Now the question is - Is Goldblum the only big star returning or will we get to see more familiar faces?

@kevnberg I would have to disagree with you. I think he is better fitted as a comedic actor, especially after watching him in Portlandia, the Leauge and the Wes Anderson films.

This movie is going to be so much better without Will Smith's ego to deal with. Can't wait for massive alien destruction!
