This April, Vita Ayala and Rod Reis' New Mutants run looks set to bring the heat to the X-Men's "Destiny of X" era with a new arc that will see a war ignited between Magik and the Goblin Queen!

"The Labors of Magik" will kick off in New Mutants #25, a perfect jumping-on point for the series that is redefining what it means to be the next generation of X-Men. They were the central stars of the groundbreaking classic X-Men crossover, Inferno, and now over thirty years later, Illyana Rasputina and Madelyne Pryor are ready to fan the flames once more.

Illyana is the rightful queen of Limbo, but she’s been awfully busy on Krakoa. However, now that Maddie’s back in action, she’s determined to sit on the throne that was once promised to her. Who will you bow down to? That's what we're going to find out in this upcoming war between mutants.

Now, to commemorate this highly-anticipated storyline and to celebrate the book’s 25th issue, some of the industry’s leading artists have gloriously depicted the two queens of mutantdom in incredible new variant covers by top tier talent like Stanley "Artgerm" Lau, Dan Panosian, Philip Tan, and Phil Jiminez.

You can check them all out below before New Mutants #25 arrives in stores this April.

I’m sure someone will explain to me the narrative context as to why it is dire that this character dress like a half-naked witch from an X-rated web game ad.

I'm sorry I can't even come up with a joke. She looks like a stripper whose one song away from a final act. And I mean she's Jean Grey's clone too.

Emma Frost has never dressed with the least amount of clothing as this look.

Finally, this is getting back to the golden days of comic books... every female character should have a similar suit and proportions and then comics will sell again. Everyone complaining about it isn't even an actual consumer so your vote dont count.

@TheShowMeeShow - Although I'm kinda surprised we still do, I think its fun we'll still get covers like this. Comics gotta comics

@TheShowMeeShow - not to mention the artwork on the first cover is quite good. Her body looks amazing. The art on the other variant covers is all meh.

@bkmeijer - yes sir, thats what c9mics are all about great stories, hot women in skimpy outfits and buff dudes in skin tight suits, take that away and its not comics anymore, except maybe IDW TMNT, thats just aweosme storytelling.

I think its pretty funny how we still get covers like this in this day and age.

I don't really have to question why she is dressed like that (because comics), but I do wonder is why the artist went into so much detail with the first one

@Waddles - could've guess it was him. Think I like his Supergirl best though (which really looks like Jane Foster now that I think about it)

@Waddles - true. As I said I like his Supergirl, and that is indeed is where the money is. His Superman looks kinda okay at best.

Now that I think about it, both Lau and Snyder are kinda similar. They really love showing muscle definition and such
