Radio Host Glenn Beck Blames Michelle Obama For Bi-racial Spider-Man

Glenn Bleck says Michelle Obama is to blame for the new Ultimate Spider-Man being half black and half hispanic

“I think a lot of this stuff is being done intentionally. What was it that Mrs. Obama said before the campaign? Because its strange how so much of this seems to all be happening,” he said. Beck then played an audio file of Michelle Obama saying that “we’re gonna have to change our traditions.”

Oddly enough he says he dosn't care because its just a stupid comic book but also said that "Spider-Man: Turn Off The Dark" was “by far, the best show I’ve ever seen.” and went on to say it was better than "Wicked".

no where does it say that this spider-man is gay. some one read that as an 'what if' and they ran with it. either way, Beck shut the [frick] up, Stewart already shut you down

"We're gonna have to change our traditions."

And what traditions are you afraid of being changed, Glenn? Are you afraid that people of color or different ethnicity are being elevated to the equal status of whites?

Really all this [frick]ing fuss over a Comic Book, look i love comics and the ultimate line is decent, but this shit has to stop when people are clearly over-[frick]in-reacting about this. ITS A COMIC BOOK CHARACTER! THIS DOES NOT AFFECT REAL LIFE LIKE SOME LIKE TO THINK!

Glenn Beck is an asshole who needs to stop this shit, this doesn't affect real life. Its fictional characters!

I'm not one to use the race card, but it amazes me when people only have something to say when a character is made black or an incarnation of the character is made black.

Glenn Beck has quite a bit of very good and on-point things to say... unfortunately, they get overshadowed by his constant ignorance and plain stupidity. Case in Point

I am tired of this racist ass shit... Damn what's the problem?! If he was white and Irish would people complain... or is it because he is a minority like grow the [frick] up people and stop living in the past

They didn't make Peter Parker Black.. Peter Parker is dead. This is a new kid taking up the mantle of Spider Man
JatevinM
JatevinM - 8/3/2011, 12:22 PM
Cross@ That is not the same thing at all. The fact that Luke Cage is black influences alot of what goes on with his character and it is part of who he is. It makes no sense to make him white. The fact that Spiderman is white does not affect his story in any way and plus this isn't even Peter Parker its just a kid who is taking over the Spiderman mantle. My goodness at least have a legitimate reason and an argument for feeling the way you do.

"I'm not one to use the race card, but it amazes me when people only have something to say when a character is made black or an incarnation of the character is made black."

Thats because no one has ever had the balls to change a black character into a white character. Could you imagine what the black community would say if they killed the Black Panther and put a white guy under the mask? Or if they got a white guy to play Luke Cage in a movie? The complaining would never stop!

yet, when people get mad that they turn Kingpin black in the movie, all of a sudden its racist to be mad about it. its a total double standard...

CorndogBurglar - 8/3/2011, 12:28 PM
@ JatevinM

Being black isn't as important with Luke Cage as you make it out to be. He could easily be a white guy that grew up on the streets in the hood, and he would still be a role model.

Look, just make the black panther white then everyone will stop bithcing.

@CorndogBurglar

sorry i need to pull you on to this. first of Black Panther has been taken over by a Biracial character from NYC. have you forgotten Kasper Cole took on the mantle of Black Panther. also Steve Rogers also wore the Black Panther costume.

another thing Spawn aka Al Simmons mantle was taken over by a white character name Jim Downing. he became the new Spawn in the comics.
JatevinM
JatevinM - 8/3/2011, 12:35 PM
Corndog@ Considering most comic book characters are white your right no one has the balls to change the few that black people actually do have.

Now with that said that also reveals another problem. There needs to be more original black, hispanic, asian, arabic, etc characters made.
JatevinM

TheDesertGorilla@ Maybe you lost your job not because of the whole "Politically correct thing" but because unfortunately the Mexican may have done the same work for cheaper.

@ jatevinm

now that i can completely agree with! instead of changing existing characters, creat good new ethnic characters!

@ jazzman

I was actually unaware of the Black Panther, thing!

I did know about Spawn, but thats why I'm really not upset over any of it. Simmons commited suicide, and there's always a Spawn, so it had to take over someone else, and its not like Hellspawns only target black people, y'know?

superotherside
superotherside - 8/3/2011, 12:46 PM
I agree... in a lot of ways, I'll give an instance

Black Panther gets killed off, and his son which Black Panther had from a white woman, takes over for ruling the country and being Black Panther and of course he's white.

Same logic but I and everyone else would have a problem with this. Why? Because it's changing a character needlessly. Is their politics in this... maybe... I don't really care because I don't like the ultimate universe but it is a little ridiculous if you think about it just as ridiculous as the story I posted above.

nuff said!
