Looking for the meaning of words in a dictionary is soo passe! lol Nowadays it's Dictionary.com FTW! :D

That's precisely how I landed on this nifty article that they had featured on their main page (in honor of X-Men First Class of course!). Pretty rad idea...I mean, it being an online dictionary what better way to cater to the X-appetite (that is bound to grow after watching XFC) than providing us with meanings of the X code-names! Until I saw this link I never even knew that "Magneto" was ACTUALLY a word! I just thought it was the word "magnet" with an "o" added at the end lol!

Check out the link below & brush up on your X-vocab all on 1 page! You won't believe how different the personalities &/or powers of some X-Men are from the meanings of their names! You can see the definitions in list-form, as flashcards or even play a quiz to test your knowledge of the names!

And when we talk about the X-codenames, I think we all think about that awesome scene from X-Men First Class where they decide they aliases! It was precisely what I was talking about when I spoke about the "camaraderie shown between the characters..." in my review for X-Men First Class out here: http://www.comicbookmovie.com/fansites/allthingsx/news/?a=39224

I agree with Xenix here; I mean heres my explanation:

Cyclops - Due to his optic powers
Marvel Girl (later Phoenix) - Due to her powers of telekenises (later due to her reviving all the time)
Beast - He has fur and acrobatic abilities
Iceman - Ice powers, no shit
Angel - His wings
Wolverine - He was originally meant to be a mutated Wolverine
Storm - Her weather powers
Colossus - His huge size (even his penis)
Nightcrawler - Everthing from the song by Judas Priest of that same name (naw, he just looks like a demon)
Banshee - His super sonic scream
Magneto - he is the master of magnets
Toad - He is a toad
Scarlet Witch - Her hex powers
Quicksilver - Cause he is fast
The Blob - He is fat (and I bet he doesn't know he has a penis)
Unus the Untouchable - Force fields makes everybody untouchabel
Juggernaut - Big, Huge, and Can't Be Stop (though if you watch that one Deadpool Quickie on YouTube, you will be surprised by his penis size . . . well that explains why he hates his step brother so much)

After these X-Men (except for the New Mutants) their names are less obvious than usual.

i agree with both of you guys...but out of all the ones that u'll have mentioned only a handful are defined in the link cos of course they are like "DUH!" haha...

@BigK1337 i didn't know that abt Wolverine...And LMAO at ur Colossus, Blob & Juggernaut! lol

And cyke's got his name not really becos of his powers but becos of the visor he wears that has that single opening...And though i dont listen to metal i think i am gonna listen to Nightcrawler now!
