COMICS: Cover And Interior Artwork For Jonathan Hickman's AVENGERS #4

Yesterday we showed you some great Jerome Opena art from Avengers #2, now we've bypassed issue 3 (we're crazy like that) and have some unlettered pencils from Adam Kubert for January's Avengers #4. There's also a look at the cover featuring art by Dustin Weaver..

Thor really does look like a pretty boy -_-

Must admit Hyperion and Thor together makes for a pretty hard nut team!!!

This team is stacked. Hulk, Thor, and Hyperion on one team. crazy.

Only 4 issues in, and ALREADY we have a different artist...oh, I'm sorry, not "artist", we have the lesser Kubert.

I guess Opena got the ol' Silvestritis :/

On a more positive note, it's cool to see Hyperion, instead of bringing back The Sentry.

Cheers to you, Englehart

Hickman said there would be up to 22 regular team members, but that the focus would be placed on the characters that didn't have their own solo titles running.

Looks like 22 regular artists may be lined up also :/

Remember commitment? When artists would actually complete AT LEAST a six-issue arc? Forget 111 consecutive issues
(Bagley ain't great but at least we can count on him)

Hey Slyde, which comic are you the regular artist for? I'm interested, seeming as you're so quick to diss people who have a talent and make a living out of drawing.

SLYDE: the LESSER Kubert? Which one?

I'll take Adam over Andy if I have a gun pointed at my head, but they both sure knew how to step out of their father's shadow, huh?

I'm a retailer that knows that my customers prefer to see their favorite artists actually producing... If its possible for artists like Kirby, Byrne, Decarlo, Aragones, Sim, Bagley, Perez (and more) to complete impossibly EPIC runs on books, I think we should be able to see a complete story arc on a newly launched title. I personally know Frank Cho, and his 5th issue of Wolverine (script AND art) is almost complete, and he's WAY ahead of deadline.

I apologize for defending hard working, dedicated creators.

Hey, at least Adam (the lesser Kubert) was available to help out Hickman when its obvious Opena couldn't hack it...

Joe and Andy got the talent in that bloodline, but Adam is there in a pinch.

Always been intrigued by Hyperion both evil and good versions. I suppose I just like Superman Copies.

It's not the Hyperion of Earth-616 but from another dying Earth ...

The creative teams for these team books are CRAZY
Hickman/OPena for Avengers
Hickman/Epting for New Avengers
Bendis/Immounen(I think I misspelled his last name) for All New X-Men
Bendis/Bachalo(although not really a fan of him) for Uncanny X-Men

Jonthan Hickman is one of my favorite comic book writers in the business. Can't wait for The Avengers comics.

Its about time Hyperion gets some shine, and it looks like some of the other Eternals are returning as well. A Thor and Hyperion team up gotta mean serious business. I CANT WAIT, THE ANTICIPATION IS KILLING ME!

It's good but I'm already missing Jerome Opena's artwork.

ANDY is WAY the lesser Kubert. At least Adam here has a little bit of his own style, as well as a great deal more ability overall.

Andys artwork hasn't grown one iota since his initial mangled appropriation of Joe's genuine vision. He's like Sean Lennon (or Julian, or whoever). Not being unfair because he'll never be as great as one of THE greats, but Andy just isn't good at all

Adam wins by default, but at least I can stomach these pencils; it IS some of his better work

Damn, Hyperion looks a lot like Superman. I know he's SUPPOSED to, but wow.

Awesome, though. I love ALL the Kuberts' art!

@Slyde... I mean no disrespect but I'd take Openas artwork over Andy anytime.
