In January 2013, prepare for the deadliest game of all as Uncanny X-Force #1 kicks off an all-new ongoing series from rising star creators writer Sam Humphries (Ultimate Comics Ultimates) and artist Ron Garney (Wolverine). As part of Marvel NOW!, Uncanny X-Force joins a number of titles that will take the Marvel Universe in an exciting all-new direction, as the industry’s top creators join the top Super Heroes to deliver all-new ongoing series, great for new and lapsed readers alike!

After the shocking end to the previous group known as X-Force, the mutant known as Psylocke recruits her own clandestine group of operatives—Storm, Puck and Spiral—for missions so important—and so bloody—no one can know the truth. But when the time traveler known as Bishop returns to the present, he puts this new X-Force in his sights and won’t rest till he finds them. But just why does this former ally of the X-Men now hunt his former teammates? The answer will leave you speechless.

"Thanks to a strong tradition of formidable creators, Uncanny X-Force is a book with a unique identity -- dark, dirty, morally sticky, edgy, bloody, sexy," explained Sam Humphries in an interview with Marvel.com. "I wouldn't have it any other way. I feel right at home."

Marvel NOW! is the culmination of Marvel ReEvolution, the groundbreaking new initiative to evolve the comic book experience through innovation. With Uncanny X-Force, Marvel NOW! ensures fans will discover an entirely new perspective on the tough decisions heroes need to make…and if they can still be heroes after pulling the trigger.

"Uncanny X-Force carries on the X-Force tradition of bold, unique storytelling with a surprising team lineup and an unpredictable master plan," said Axel Alonso, Editor in Chief, Marvel Entertainment. "Sam and Ron are committed to not only bringing fans one of the most visceral and action packed series on stands, but also showing the consequences of this violence for fans, creating a book that has a lot to say about the world we live in today. With a lot of explosions."

Each issue of Uncanny X-Force includes a code for a free digital copy on the Marvel Comics app for iOS and Android devices. Additionally, each issue of Uncanny X-Force features special augmented reality content available exclusive through the Marvel AR app – including cover recaps, behind the scenes features and more that add value to your reading experience at no additional cost.

"Not only does every book with the Marvel NOW! logo feature a new superstar creative team and blockbuster story, but they also come with all-new incentives for our retailer partners," explained David Gabriel, Senior Vice-President of Sales, Marvel Entertainment.. "We want to make sure every comic shop nationwide is fully stocked to meet the high demand we’re already seeing for Marvel NOW! And want to make sure their voices are heard throughout this exciting time. Stay tuned for more news on how Marvel will be working directly with retailers to make sure our programs address their needs."

New Year! New Team! New Secrets! This is Uncanny X-Force NOW! This January, Sam Humphries & Ron Garney redefine violence in Uncanny X-Force #1!

Really? Storm in X-force? SO out of character, chris claremont would throw up if he found out!

I like the idea of Psylocke running a team. And I really like that they are going to add Spiral to the team... but Storm and Puck on X-Force?!

hmm. guess we'll just wait and see

Making Bishop a villain was horrible. Then giving him that stupid arm like Cable only made it worse.

Now two X-Force Teams?!

Just do a New 52 and call it a day Marvel.

Ugh. I'm already picking up a ton of comics. I think I'll pass, considering Remender's leaving.

Dammit, I loved having Wolverine, Deadpool, and Nightcrawler (AoA, but still) in the same book.

Now, someone help me out here. Is Psylocke wearing an out of date uniform? Like Captain America, Scarlet Witch and Thor, shouldn't she cover up with amor for greater protection and a gratuitous bump in sales? Yes?

There was a time when Claremont made Storm a little nore aggressive-stabbing Callisto through the heart, for example-so this may be calling back to that version of the character.

Good to see Ron Garney on this, though.Very underrated artist....

I was a fan of the current X Force team (IS it Remender? I feel like it is. Can't remember off the top of my head). Bold storytelling and overall great art. I don't know about all this business. Two X Forces seems a bit excessive. I like the line up for Cable's X Force. This one, not so much.

I'll stick with the other X-Force title. I'll still read it (because I have the ability to read ALL the Now titles) but doesn't mean I'm that interested.

@equinox

Don't get you're knickers in a bunch. Theye just trying too make up for more than half they're issuees being crap most of the time.

The third Pirates of the Caribbean movie sucked, so they gave the ladies some sweet 'live vicariously through Keira Knightly while she is unashamedly being serviced by Orlando Bloom in front of kiddies' scene. (Yes it was PG13, no parents didn't care when they buy the tickets, yes everybody considers them a family movie)

No Remender. Tough sell, but I'll give Sam Humphries a shot. Put Deadpool and AOA Nightcrawler back on the team, ressurect Fantomex, and this book would be perfect.

Storm being on the team bewilders the hell out of me as well. She has always been a vocal/strong opponent of X-force and killing in general.

...all I know is that Marvel better give a damn good reason for why she chooses to join the team between now and Jan.

Could be good, but I'll wait. What I would love to see is an all girl x-force. Storm, psylocke, domino, dust, rogue, X23, boom boom(if she is still around), and indie from gen-hope. You got acouple of original members. You got some non killers for team friction. Even has some kids to corrupt. I know I'd pick it up.

Macksimus - 9/17/2012, 5:37 PM
Also, I hope Marvel doesn't run every damn mutant through the X-force ranks like they have to all the other teams.

...but I guess they are going to milk this cow until she falls over and dies.

fortycals - 9/17/2012, 5:40 PM
I know alot of people think that all of the team should be killers after the last vol. but xforce was always harder/more agressive than xmen not just a hit squad.

I thought Cable was running X-Force and now there are two X-Force teams. Sad to say this incarnation of X-Force has a terrible line up. Psylocke is the only believable member for a clandestine team.
xstryker
xstryker - 9/17/2012, 7:14 PM
This sounds like a continuation of the adjectiveless X-Men team, keep Storm & Psylocke and replacing Domino, Colossus, and Pixie with Spiral and Puck. And that would be fine if they weren't trying to pump up sales by turning them into a second X Force to be more "edgy". I will stick to the other X Force title, as that looks more coherent.
