Neil Gaiman Says Benedict Cumberbatch/Tom Hiddleston SANDMAN Quotes Made In Jest
It did seem a bit odd that Sandman author Neil Gaiman would endorse Benedict Cumberbatch and Tom Hiddleston for the role of Morpheus in Warner Bros.' Sandman movie after Joseph Gordon-Levitt was formally announced as a leading candidate for the role.

The Sandman is an American comic book series written by English writer Neil Gaiman and published by DC Comics. Artists that have collaborated with Gaiman on the title include Sam Kieth, Mike Dringenberg, Jill Thompson, Shawn McManus, Marc Hempel, and Michael Zulli, lettering by Todd Klein, and covers by Dave McKean. Beginning with issue #47, it was placed under the Vertigo imprint. On film and television adaptations of Sandman, Gaiman is most famously quoted for stating, "[I'd] rather see no Sandman movie made than a bad Sandman movie." However, in 2013, WB announced that a Sandman movie was in development with David S. Goyer, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, with Gaiman in a consulting role.
