NOTE: Welp! I am back from the Banned list! it was a fun stay while it lasted, Nate has really stepped up in giving everyone there a good time while they think about what they say, go cold turkey from flame article withdrawl and overall just miss the site, but now I am back and while I did enjoy my banning (mostly because there are more people on the banned list than people that watch AOS) it's back to being the Excellence of Editorials for me.
Now it's my turn for story time, well I am just gonna be real here, I am only 21 years old, I have only had 2 passions in life The Boy Scouts of America (I entered when I was 13 and stil am a member to this day) and Comic related media, as a very young boy I grew up with lust for comics, being the son of a comic (mostly star trek fan) my dad's gene's did me well blessing me with superior taste as from a young age Batman was my idol hero, when I was 3 years old Batman & Robin came out, while I don't know if my parents took me to see it, I do know they gave me a Batman plush toy, a Robin Plush toy and many other DC related toy's while I did also have a few spiderman & Xmen toy's they paled in comparison to the amount of Dc related merch I had. While I always wanted to get into comics the ONLY comi store in my city closed before I was able to read and understand them so I got the second best thing, ANIMATED SERIES! yes I grew up in the 90's with Batman the animated series, Spiderman, X-men, Superman and many other series, once the 2000's started I started to dislike the Marvel shows (yes I enjoyed Marvel product when I was young) mostly because of Xmen Evolution because when I saw it, it came after Justice League & other shows I watched like Batman beyond so of course I felt it was dumb and dropped the Marvel product, I saw the first few Spiderman movies but then my enjoyment of them was cut short after I learned that the movie was not the original Spiderman origin so I also dropped the movies from marvel character and watched only Marvel movies if I HAD to (Ex: date's wanted to see them, was forced by friends etc).
As I grew into my teen years the Boy scouts took a lot of time out of watching Movies and shows, it also took money away from me and my family, but as time passed on I started to save up money and slowly I started building my collection, from games to movies to series I am still slowly reaching my goal of owning every single DC Movie (Done) and DC series in history. But then things took a turn for the worst, as Boy scout's, school/uni, and other things took my time and I grew I got into my real relationship which proved to be mistake, not because I was not ready for a relationship, but because I was with a girl who HATED the things I liked, Wrestling to her? stupid & gay along with the it's fake arguments which aren't dumb but don't say them when you sit down to watch soap opera's next to me, comics & heroes to her represented childish and silly mentallity so I had to slowly down play my enjoyment and my money spending on them, until I left the bitch and got with my current Girl a few years ago, she is amazing & honestly enjoys that I like wrestling, comics & other things, she even encouraged me to become a member here and contribute as I wanted to do it for a long time but never did, she has even helped me with my collection, stayed up studying about hero's and helped me on editorials, she watches shows and movies with me and is a fan of both DC & Marvel, in other words, she saved my fandom.
Now as most of you know, I am in the US Army and I am going on active duty in Nov and will have little time to chime in here and let you know what's up with me and enjoy DC shows and also enjoy the cancelling of Agents of Shield. But I will say, joining the Army is a big step and it was comics that helped me take it, now don't go crazy thinking I joined to the money & skills to become Batman or any other hero, but I did join in part due to the fact that the characters in comics are heroes, they re idols and world legends and even they respect the military, with some having served in the Armies of different nations and such and hell even beating Hitler up, comics are infused with Military history and their character shows so much power and boldness along with team effort's that I saw in myself and in the Army.
Comics & heroes carved my childhood, they made me happy in my teen years, and now in adulthood they have guided me and showed the example of a true hero and that is what I want for, me for my nation.
I apologize for the lack of pictures and DCGuy-ism's, It's not easy to explain how people who live in pages have been a better help to you than most people you meet in real life.
