Titan Comics and Alcon Publishing have announced that the female Blade Runner known as Aahna "Ash" Ashina will be returning in the upcoming Blade Runner 2039 comic book.

This fan favorite has been told in a series that has spanned decades, beginning in 2019 with Blade Runner 2019 and continuing in Blade Runner 2029. The upcoming 12-issue series will be the concluding chapter in epic series.

Ash will come into conflict with Luv-Niander Wallace's lethal "First Angel" in the concluding third year of this award-winning title, which will be released in comic book stores in December 2022. This character was introduced in the seminal film Blade Runner 2049. Also returning is the core creative team consisting of writer Mike Johnson (Supergirl, Star Trek), artist Andres Guinaldo (Justice League Dark), and colorist Marco Lesko. These three individuals will continue their ingenious and highly praised work in bringing the Blade Runner universe to graphic story literature.

There are three art covers created by artists Junggeun Yoon, Veronica Fish, and Butch Guice, respectively. The fourth cover is a concept art cover created by Syd Mead, a well-known "futurist" designer who was responsible for visualizing a significant portion of the Blade Runner world. The first issue of Blade Runner 2039 comes with four stunning variant covers that readers can collect. Be sure to look them over below!

Titan Comics' hugely popular and critically acclaimed Blade Runner comic titles are expanded with Blade Runner 2039. These titles include Blade Runner 2019, Blade Runner 2029, Blade Runner: Origins, and its newest entry Blade Runner: Black Lotus, which is an extension of Blade Runner: Black Lotus, which was nominated for an award for best anime television series.

"Ash's story, which began in Blade Runner 2019, comes full circle with the conclusion of this brand-new series, which serves as both its continuation and its conclusion." According to the Senior Creative Editor of Titan Comics, David Leach, "It's going to be the most dramatic of the series, and that's saying a lot after what went down in Blade Runner 2029!" "It's wonderful to be working with Johnson, Guinaldo, and Lesko again; these three gentlemen are what makes it scream 'Blade Runner!'"

Jeff Conner, the director of publishing at Alcon, remarked that it is "refreshing to have a comic character grow and evolve the way Ash has." "Mike and Andres are really making an effort to create something unique. The news is sure to please those who have followed the series.

December 2022 will see the release of Blade Runner 2039 #1 in comic book stores and on digital devices. You can place a pre-order at your neighborhood comic book store or at Forbidden Planet for those in the UK and Europe.

Looking forward to this. I am a big Blade Runner fan. But I hope there are some male protagonists here. The covers posted suggest there are none.
