Wizard World is the weekend at the America's Center and after attending the event a few times, I figured I would share a few things I've learned over the years.
Pack Your Bags! Make a checklist of all the essentials you will need during your trip. Daipers, medicine, extra glasses, pokeballs and whatever else will be needed to help you through the day. Then compact it best you can.
Pack light! Alot of walking will be involved so whatever you can leave in the car, leave it.
Get Comfy! Even if you're cosplaying, it would benefit you to bring some walking shoes with you. Also, dress light as well as it can get pretty warm after a while and you don't want to walk all the way to the car to put your jacket away.
Bring Batteries! If you're using anyting other than your phone to take pictures with, be sure to bring extra batteries. You may also need to bring an extra memory card. There will also be spots to charge your cell phones too!
Bring Cash! It's makes transactions so much easier. ATM's are available and you can use your credit/debit cards at certain vendors as well but most autographs and purchases will require cash.
Secure Your Money! Purse, wallet, or sock doesn't matter. Be sure to put your money and personal belongings somewhere extra safe and where you can easily find them. It'll be croweded in there. Also, get familiar with the location of the lost and found in case you find something belonging to someone else.
Check for Parking! Check ahead of time for available parking and prices the day of the event. Be aware that you may end up walking a distance to the building due to the amount of guests attending.
Bring Food and Drink! Now, this is mainly for those who are needing to save a few dollars. There are plenty of places to eat inside and outside the Americas Center. The food there is delicious! However, it may not hurt to keep a water and a sandwhich in the car to eat later on, especially if you have allergies or a specific diet.
Show Up Early! This may be the most important piece of advice I can give. The lines have been known to extend far outside the building, so it may be beneficial to you to grab a spot and play the waiting game. Catch up on that DS game you've been putting off.
Cosplay All Day! Dont make assumtions as to what is and isnt ok for cosplaying. Check the rules so that you won't have to ruin all of your hard work or possibly be ejected from the show.
Be Patient! It's the one time of year fans can buy comics they can't find, merchandise they've never seen and meet all the celebs and artists they love. Knowing this, expect some lines and some waiting when getting autographs and looking at merchandise.
Rest Up! There are plenty of tables to sit at so don't over do it, rest when you need to.
Well, that's all I could manage to think up. If you have anymore questions, just ask below or shoot over to the Wizard World website and check there. Also, be sure to get the ConTV app and watch free movies, original content and live Wizard World panels!
See you guys this weekend!
