1873. Arizona Territory. A stranger (Craig) with no memory of his past stumbles into the hard desert town of Absolution. The only hint to his history is a mysterious shackle that encircles one wrist. What he discovers is that the people of Absolution don't welcome strangers, and nobody makes a move on its streets unless ordered to do so by the iron-fisted Colonel Dolarhyde (Ford). It's a town that lives in fear. But Absolution is about to experience fear it can scarcely comprehend as the desolate city is attacked by marauders from the sky. Screaming down with breathtaking velocity and blinding lights to abduct the helpless one by one, these monsters challenge everything the residents have ever known. Now, the stranger they rejected is their only hope for salvation. As this gunslinger slowly starts to remember who he is and where he’s been, he realizes he holds a secret that could give the town a fighting chance against the alien force. With the help of the elusive traveler Ella (Olivia Wilde), he pulls together a posse comprised of former opponents—townsfolk, Dolarhyde and his boys, outlaws and Apache warriors—all in danger of annihilation. United against a common enemy, they will prepare for an epic showdown for survival.

Cowboys & Aliens is set to hit theatres on July 29!

While I think the film itself may be good, I'll be shocked if this manages to open big. I just don't see audiences buying into the premise played so seriously.

one of my few movies im looking forward to,i liked Green Lantern but well it's not heating up the box office, hope at least this will do better, heard the budget for this was just $100 mil,so this should have a better chance than GL to be a hit when the final worldwide amount is taken into account.

I know absolutely nothing about this comic but John Favereau is behind it, so I'm pumped to see it. This is like a "passing of the torch" between Craig and Ford in my opinion....

This movie gonna be the biggest money maker of 2011 and we shall get not one,not two but THREE back to back sequels and one spinoff within 24 months(John can do that ,he is a machine):
1.Rednecks & Predators
2.Nomads & Terminators
3.Shepherds & Transformers
4.Gays & Lesbians(a porno spinoff)
after these four make more than $5 billion we shall get another set of ridiculously EPIC movies.
5.Homos & Sapiens
6.Drunkards & Vulcans
100 years later and after 80 movies, this Series will be taught in school books as the best one ever surpassing Bond,Star Wars,Star trek,HP,LOTR,POC etc in every way possible.

PS:As GL replaced the word SHIT in Oxford Dictionary, this one will replace POOP.

Jon Favreau captured the tone perfectly, from what I see in these trailers.

Olivia Wilde has like no tits. you might as well be showing topless pics of dudes because that is all you're getting from those of her.

Not really into letting ratings and reviews dictate what I go see, but this looks like a coin toss. I'll have to wait and see how it's looking upon release week.

And Jon Favreau's directing is pretty basic action movie directing. I don't see what the big deal is. But we'll see I guess. Ford, Craig and Rockwell are WINNERS so, who knows.

This looks mediocre at best. Olivia Wilde has a beautiful face but a stick figure body.

^^And apparently, stick figure acting.
