The People vs. Gorilla Grodd Reportedly Adds These Two Flash Villains - Will The Scarlet Speedster Appear?

A new rumour suggests that DC Studios' The People vs. Gorilla Grodd will feature two members of The Flash's rogues' gallery, but will the Fastest Man Alive make his DCU debut in the series?

A first look at The People vs. Gorilla Grodd strongly suggests that the upcoming DC Studios series will be a full-blown comedy. It certainly looks fun, and tonally, that would be very much in line with filmmaker James Gunn's approach to the DCU.

Many fans are excited for an irreverent take on Grodd, while others have been quick to express disappointment about one of The Flash's most formidable foes becoming a punchline. Ultimately, the best way to judge the show will be to watch it.

Set photos have confirmed that Matter-Eater Lad was one of Grodd's classmates at Metropolis University, and two more obscure villains are reportedly set to appear, according to @AtlantaDCFans.

Those are Golden Glider and Murmur, two Flash rogues who could be used in any number of ways in The People vs. Gorilla Grodd. Perhaps they'll testify at Grodd's trial, along with a certain Fastest Man Alive? That would be one way to reintroduce the hero.

As a reminder, Golden Glider is the supervillain identity of Lisa Snart, the sister of Leonard Snart, better known as Captain Cold. A longtime enemy of the Flash, she possesses the ability to project herself into an ethereal form, allowing her to fly, phase through objects and travel at incredible speeds. She previously appeared in The Flash TV series.

Murmur, meanwhile, is the supervillain identity of Michael Amar, and he possesses the ability to control people's minds through a powerful sonic voice, manipulating victims into following his commands. Murmur was reimagined as Michelle Amar in the Arrowverse.

The account, which has shared many details from The People vs. Gorilla Grodd's set, also claims that protestors have been spotted campaigning for Grodd to be locked up or killed. A gorilla-sized orange jumpsuit was also spotted, while another of those signs stated, "Grodd must answer for his crimes."

The People v. Gorilla Grodd follows a superintelligent ape who is convicted of murdering his father, the King of Gorilla City. In an eight-part "true" crime docuseries, the Daily Planet's Jimmy Olsen reopens the case, investigating whether Gorilla Grodd was wrongly convicted in one of Metropolis' most famous murder trials.

The Max Original comedy stars Skyler Gisondo as Jimmy Olsen, Jimmy Tatro as Gorilla Grodd, and Superman actors Beck Bennett as Steve Lombard, Mikaela Hoover as Cat Grant, and Wendell Pierce as Perry White.

The series also stars Mary Holland, Eduardo Franco, Arian Moayed, Dan Perrault, Andrew Leeds, and Tim Baltz. Their respective roles have not been revealed. Tony Yacenda and Dan Perrault will serve as showrunners, writers, and executive producers, with Yacenda set to direct all episodes. James Gunn and Peter Safran also serve as executive producers.

The People vs. Gorilla Grodd will likely premiere on HBO Max in 2027 or 2028.

"Will The Scarlet Speedster Appear."

Only if he wants to end his days in great public shame, dishonor and humiliation.

@UltimaRex - It's true. (But that degenerate does not exist in the Batson-Universe).

Sam Rechner would be a great Flash. Think this Grodd tv series could pave the way for Flash. Not sure a stand alone movie would be the right way to go though.

What would be great is that while Grodd gives testimony referencing Flash, that they show flashbacks of him fighting and being apprehended by Flash. Maybe multiple times. It's a way to feature Flash without making it his show.

Hopefully Flash would have the more athletic build like Shipp and have more of a heroic presence.

Having Flash in this show would be a different way to introduce the character, a character who's VERY IMPORTANT - and because of this, I don't think it will happen. Because fans would love and I have a feeling DC Studios wants fans to hate everything.

Cool if true…

I like the idea that some villains might have history with Grodd which makes sense since this is a lived in universe that as we have seen in the likes of Lanterns & such is familiar with superpowers , superheroes and now intelligent apes.

Interesting. I gotta rewatch but didn’t Creature Commandos reveal Grodd as ultimately taking over the world? Hell of a glow up if true lol

@newhire13 - it was an alternate future in which he had made an alliance with Princess Ilana to conquer the world…

Given it was an alternate future , he may or may not become like that in this DCU.

Ripped not out of the comics, but instead out of the mushy mind of pervert Gunn.

Gunn does have one incredibly hard task ahead. Having an even worse iteration of the Flash than the horror show Zack tossed out there.

I think it’d be a cheap cop out at this point to add The Flash as a supporting character or cameo to a dumbass show like this.
And since you are speculating anyway I’d go ahead and say you’re wrong because you’re always wrong and make dumbass articles about it.
