We're mere months away from the 91st edition of the Academy Awards and studios have started putting together their "For Your Consideration" campaigns in earnest. Marvel Studios is expected to push Black Panther for a "Best Picture" nomination but does Deadpool 2 deserve the same treatment?
21st Century Fox appears to think so, as they've released some of their "For Your Consideration" candidates and the Merc with the Mouth's sequel gets more than a few mentions!

It's fair to say that Deadpool 2 won't be landing nominations for "Best Picture" or in the acting/directing categories but Fox should legitimately push some of the technical ones because the sequel is definitely deserving of being considered for them.
Chances are we'll see Ryan Reynolds release some sort of "For Your Consideration" video because that will once again draw attention to the sequel (which helps Blu-ray sales and the like), something the actor will no doubt be keen to do, especially as he has to be hoping Marvel Studios doesn't decide to end or reboot the franchise when the Merc lands in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

T.J. Miller's Sexual Misconduct Scandal
When Russell's attack is first reported on the news, the ticker on the screen says Christian Plummer refused a role in Deadpool 2. That's a very meta joke and a reference to the actor replacing Kevin Spacey in All The Money In The World after he too (like T.J. Miller) was accused of sexual misconduct.
