Yesterday's final trailer for Deadpool 2 took a funny, but not-so-subtle swipe at WB's DC Films Universe, and now the studio has fired back via the Twitter account for the Teen Titans GO! animated feature.

It seems the Titans caught Wade Wilson's little DCEU gag in yesterday's Deadpool 2 trailer!

New DEADPOOL 2 Red Band Trailer Features More Marvel And DC References Than You Can Shake A Katana At

The Twitter page for the upcoming Teen Titans GO! To the Movies animated feature fired back at The Merc With a Mouth's dig at the darkness of the DCEU by reminding star Ryan Reynolds that not only was he once a part of the DC movie universe (well, kinda) as Green Lantern, but he starred in one of the most maligned superhero movies of all time.

It's worth noting that the Titans actually began this war of words with the short clip featured below, so don't be surprised if The Merc has a thing or two to say about this latest swipe.

It's all in good fun, of course, but are we the only ones hoping that this becomes an ongoing thing?

Deadpool 2 hits theaters on May 18, while Teen Titans Go! to the Movies is scheduled for release on July 27.

I was able to use thumbnails of both Ryan Reynolds as Barakapool and Green Lantern today. I'm a happy man.

Pretty sure Ryan Reynolds will never forget his experience playing Green Lantern...

@HeavyMetal4Life - I mean Green Lantern was the film that caused him to divorce Scarlet & marry Blake Lively

Why would he forget it?

Imagine telling their kids how they met on the set of Green Lantern lol

@LEVITIKUZ - I mean yeah, that's a positive. I wasn't talking about that.

@HeavyMetal4Life - Yeah, they attempted a zinger, but the fact that the first Deadpool movie already pokes fun at GL kind of weakens Teen Titans Go calling him out for the same thing.

@TheUnworthyThor - Also in R.I.P.D which was another abysmal failure, but so far the only CBMs where he has been the protagonist are GL and Deadpool.

@rusty28 - no he didn’t. They payed homage in the scene with cable. Where he sliced the first bullet in half and then started deflecting the other bullets. That’s right from origins.

Technically he was in two Marvel character films then a DC film, then another Marvel character film. Where as Brolin, Fassbender, Phfeiffer, Fishburne, Elba, Saldana were first in DC films.

@ARMUS -
I'm pretty sure Reynolds wants everyone to forget those movies.
At least GL brought him together with current wife Blake Lively.

Now that I think about it, it's funny how many CBMs Reynolds would like us to forget.

BvS, SS, and JL weren't dark, they were just dull, poorly paced, and moronic. All of a sudden dark has become a negative way to describe movies.
regularmovieguy
regularmovieguy - 4/20/2018, 7:58 AM
@soberchimera

BvS was pretty [frick]ing dark. Having said that, the tone wasn't the biggest issue of that movie.
99OPTIMISTPRIME
99OPTIMISTPRIME - 4/20/2018, 8:12 AM
@soberchimera - You're describing quality. But BvS was absolutely a dark superhero movie, in terms of it's tone. The movie took itself REALLY seriously, in every single scene. Using the deaths of many people, to drive the narrative, including people being killed in prison. Superman flying that dude out of the cave, was even kinda dark. In Superman's first appearance in the movie, the audience has to just assume, that he didn't literally kill that dude, while busting out of that cave in superspeed.😂
soberchimera
soberchimera - 4/20/2018, 8:27 AM
@WAKANDABATMANFOREVER - Yeah I'm sorry, but Lex Luthor in that movie removed any implications for me that that movie was taking itself seriously.
