While Disney has been staying conservative with their inhouse estimates, if the new projections from box office analyists hold, Marvel's Avengers: Infinity War should have the biggest opening weekend ever with approximately $250 million domestic, topping Lucasfilm's Star Wars: The Force Awakens ($247.98M), and over $630 million worldwide, topping Universal's The Fate of the Furious ($541.9M).
Earlier today, Deadpool 2 star Ryan Reynolds expressed his congratulations to the cast and crew by sharing a funny rejection letter from Tony Stark (Robert Downey Jr.) himself. The letter is dated "April 14, 2012," which is just three days after Joss Whedon's The Avengers held its worldwide red carpet premiere in 2012. However, while we won't see the Merc in Infinity War or next year in the still-untitled Avengers 4, there is a pretty solid chance we'll see him eventually suit up alongside the Avengers when Disney completes its acquisition of 20th Century Fox's film and tv assets at some point in summer 2019.
Read his short response from Tony Stark below:
After surviving a near fatal bovine attack, a disfigured cafeteria chef (Wade Wilson) struggles to fulfill his dream of becoming Mayberry’s hottest bartender while also learning to cope with his lost sense of taste. Searching to regain his spice for life, as well as a flux capacitor, Wade must battle ninjas, the yakuza, and a pack of sexually aggressive canines, as he journeys around the world to discover the importance of family, friendship, and flavor – finding a new taste for adventure and earning the coveted coffee mug title of World’s Best Lover.
