DEADPOOL 3 Adds SHE-HULK: ATTORNEY AT LAW And AMAZING SPIDER-MAN Comic Book Writer

Deadpool 3 ranks among Marvel Studios' most highly anticipated movies, but it appears the screenplay is undergoing more changes with an MCU expert and popular comic book writer. Read on for details...

Deadpool 3 is set to bring Ryan Reynolds' Merc with the Mouth into the MCU, though he won't be alone. Hugh Jackman's Wolverine will reportedly join Wade Wilson on a trip through the Multiverse with the Time Variance Authority in hot pursuit.

While much of the action is expected to take place in Fox's X-Men Universe - there's even talk of the original Fantastic Four cast making an appearance - common sense says the movie will end with Deadpool stranded in the MCU. That would be one way to bring the foul-mouthed anti-hero into this shared world, anyway!

Free Guy director Shawn Levy is going to be at the helm of the threequel, while Wendy Molyneux and Lizzie Molyneux-Logelin wrote the first draft of the screenplay.

Since then, Deadpool and Deadpool 2 scribes Paul Wernick & Rhett Reese have made their return to the Marvel franchise, and Deadline reports that they've been joined by Zeb Wells.

The current writer of Marvel Comics' Amazing Spider-Man series, he's no stranger to the MCU.

A supervising producer on She-Hulk: Attorney at Law, Wells wrote "The Retreat" episode of that Disney+ series and co-wrote The Marvels with Megan McDonnell, Nia DaCosta, and Elissa Karasik. He's also the Head Writer on the animated What If...? spin-off Marvel Zombies

Reynolds previously confirmed that Deadpool is heading into the MCU when he said, "Most of these movies are always a tightrope walk of tone, so in this instance, though, you have a collision of two pretty iconic characters that exist in the Marvel Ancillary Universe [laughs] — we’re in the Marvel Cinematic Universe at this point."

Along with Reynolds and Jackman, the upcoming threequel is expected to also star Leslie Uggams, Karan Soni, Emma Corrin, Matthew Macfadyen, Owen Wilson, and possibly even Patrick Stewart and Ian McKellen.

Deadpool 3 is set to be released in theaters on November 8,  2024.

Oh god not him. His amazing Spider-Man run is one of the worst comics marvel has going right now.

I actually got pretty intrigued by the headline, as my first thought was that they had cast Dan Slott in the movie. Presumably he would have played himself.

Deadpool meeting the early 2000s Fantastic Four isn't something I thought of, but now I wanna see it. Just like how I wanna see Deadpool met KEVIN as well. Seems appropriate with the movie universe jumping

@bkmeijer1 - Yes to the Tim Story FF! Also would love seeing some of the 00’s generation of Fox-Men. That universe is seemingly dying via incursion, let’s have one last go with the characters. I know not everyone liked those movies, but what if they gave them more accurate costumes this time, and some cool set pieces, before the universe was destroyed? Seems like a fitting end to the Fox-verse, and would be in line with the approach to No Way Home that was a hit with audiences.

Personally I’d like KEVIN to not appear again. Just keep it as a one off gag in the She Hulk show. Too few people are familiar with it, and i don’t think that self-referential gags like that are really a hit with most of the audience.

@mountainman - true. Think they can start off with the FoX-Men universe regardless. Doesn't really need to be an incursion imo.

As for KEVIN, you're probably right. Could always see it in a post-credit scene though

Zeb is a great writer, so this bodes well I think. People who don't like him need to realise it's that they don't like the overall direction of things he's written for (ASM, She-Hulk) as opposed to the actual writing itself, which is real good.

@SeanMPC - Writing Peter to say he sees Mary Jane (the woman who he has had a substantial SEXUAL relations with) as a sister is not good writing. And that's one of many issues with his run.

@Mrcool210 - Meh, I personally think people made more out of that than there needed to be. He kind of half says it before catching himself in a panel later anyway. Also, someone describing an ex they're still close with as a friend in a sibling way isn't too out of the ordinary.

Does it still come across as a bit naff? Sure. Is it indicative of a writer's entire style and skill level? Nah, and it's silly to even make that comparison.

Doesn't matter in the grand scheme of things, he'll be back with MJ eventually (probably with a kid if this story goes the way it's seeming to)

ehhh hiring comic book writers rarely goes well for these things. unless it's Grant Morrison or someone who can adapt to film

I do enjoy united fronts on complaining, but I also give solutions. That being said, give me this guy on writing:

and Gareth Huw Evans on stunts coordination. He's the guy who's semi- responsible for this:

@VictorAlonzo -

Glover sucks. He is a one trick pony TV funny man. He was a disaster as young Lando in Solo.

His semi-watchable Atlanta & horrible rap complete his picture. He has nothing of value to offer.

@RolandD - On books he tends to have some okay ideas but can never really land them so it almost always ends up being super disappointing, so whenever he's mentioned as contributing I'm always concerned.

Wasn't everyone complaining because Marvel (MCU) Wasn't using people who know comics and their background. Now they have a comic book writer (although not a very good one), and everyone's complaining again. I'm with you guys about his run with IP, but maybe something good will come of it. Maybe he learns something, and adapts that into his work? IDK
