Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney won Emmy Awards for Outstanding Unstructured Reality Program tonight for their work on Welcome to Wrexham, but "Mr. Lively" is a very busy man, and sent his far more uncouth and foul-mouthed pal to record a thank-you message in his place.

The Deadpool 3 star shared his funny video message in-costume (well, he wore the mask) as the Merc With a Mouth, and after thanking everyone involved in bringing Welcome to Wrexham to the screen, Wade Wilson says Reynolds has made a promise not to "f*ck up my next movie."

Check out the clip below, along with McElhenney's message.

Cameos that have reportedly been lined up for Deadpool 3 include several X-Men characters (Storm, Cyclops, and Jean Grey among them), and possibly even Channing Tatum and Taylor Kitsch as different Variants of Gambit.

A recent rumor claimed that Liev Schreiber is also set to reprise his X-Men Origins: Wolverine role as Victor Creed (that appeared to be Tyler Mane in the recent set photos). Variants of the Merc With a Mouth are also expected to appear, including Dogpool (since confirmed), Kidpool, Lady Deadpool, and more.

The one major return that had been confirmed by the trades is Jennifer Garner as Elektra, but the Alias alum declined to confirm anything in a recent interview.

Morena Baccarin (Vanessa), Karan Soni (Dopinder), Leslie Uggams (Blind Al), Rob Delaney (Peter), Brianna Hildebrand (Negasonic Teenage Warhead) And Shioli Kutsuna (Yukio) will all return as their respective characters, and they'll be joined by franchise newcomers Emma Corrin (The Crown) and Matthew Macfadyen (Succession), whose roles are still under wraps.

Plot details also remain a mystery for now, but Wade and Wolvie are expected to find themselves (trapped?) in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. A recent report claimed that Loki's TVA, including Agent Mobius (Owen Wilson) and Miss Minutes, will be involved. We have also been led to believe that Wade's MCU debut will be far more integral to Phase 5 and beyond than we first realized.

Shawn Levy is directing Deadpool 3, which is set to hit theaters on July 26, 2024.

Deadpool 3 is going to make $1 Billion. I haven't seen this much hype since Spider-Man No Way Home.

@SonOfAGif - totally

…and then Cap 4 is going to underperform after lol
SonOfAGif
SonOfAGif - 1/8/2024, 1:04 AM
@TheLobster - I can definitely see that. I just hope that if it does underperform it's still a good movie and talked about. It sucks when the movie underperforms and is hated by both critics and the general audience such as The Marvels. It just further damages the brand.

@TheLobster - true. This is the only film that has a chance of performing well with the cast alone. I just hope it will be a good movie

@TheLobster - they really should scrap Cap 4 it sounds awful

@TheLobster - I think Cap 4 in it's original state would flop. But if those rumors are true that rewrites and reshoots are essentially turning it into Avengers 4.5, then it could be very successful. If it's not already too late for an Avengers movie that is.

@SonOfAGif -
The film sounds like a disaster in terms of the script honestly. Perhaps the cameos will cause hype but I'm not seeing it at the moment... 22 comments on a day old article, most just being the same users conversing with each other.

I'm concerned about the comedy because he was prevented from adlibbing during the writers strike. In addition in terms of what can be made fun of, every joke about how bad Phase 4/5 is has already been made. It'd feel vindictive to just have Deadpool 3 ignore making remarks about how shit Disney is currently, especially if they instead just focus on making jokes at the expense of the Fox-Verse.

@TheLobster -

Captain America 4 was always going to under perform in comparison to Civil War due to going from effectively an Avengers film to a smaller scale.

With that said, Captain America 4 feels inherently toxic, created solely to be a Trump allegory so they can have a Black person punch a racist flaming orange/red US president in the face at the White House.

That feels like the reason the film exists and the only set-up we have to the film existing is Secret Invasion making sure we knew the President was xenophobic and TF&TWS making sure we knew the President was racist.

Maybe the reshoots will help, but [frick] that movie.

@TheLobster - It will have legs IF they will make a brilliant Cap 4 story not just because cap is now black.

@Scarilian - Hollywood hasn’t had any intelligent commentary on modern American politics in at least 15 years. If this movie leans too hard in that direction, it will fail and have nothing interesting to say about the subject.

@SonOfAGif - Um...Critics and GA didn't hate The Marvels. The reviews reflect that critics thought it was overall mediocre and the GA thought it was fairly good.

We've gotta get past all this dramatic nonsense of when something isn't utterly great it's "trash". The spectrum is much broader...

@SonOfAGif - so what we're saying is Deadpool needs to be the new head of the MCU with everything happening based on him giving narration via 4th wall breaks to explain the multiverse nonsense... kinda replacing the watcher... i could go for this.

TheLobster - 1/8/2024, 5:53 PM
@McMurdo - they’ve spent well over 100 million on this so far so they’re not gonna scrap it lol

Plus it’s Captain America - they’re gonna do everything they can to boost that IP to make it successful. It’s a tall order but here’s to hoping!
TheLobster
TheLobster - 1/8/2024, 5:54 PM
@ObserverIO - yeah, I’m choosing to see the rewrites as a good thing since they’re aware of what’s at stake if this flops. My only issue is if we see Sam fighting Red Hulk with no super serum. That shit would be dumb as [frick] lol
TheLobster
TheLobster - 1/8/2024, 5:56 PM
@Gabimaru - agreed. However, if the reaction is mixed to negative? That’s one more nail in the coffin for Marvel tbh. You can’t screw up a Captain America film.

Deadpool 3 will do fine and will be a success, no matter if it makes $800+ million (same as Deadpool 1 & 2) or more.
I don't see it making less, even with comic book movies not being en vogue anymore, because it is both the only MCU movie of the year and bringing a very beloved actor and character back.

Captain America: Brave new World will underperfom, no matter what, because it already has a budget of around $150 million to which 6 months of reshoots will add around $80 million to which another $80 million will be added for advertisement.
That will put it's costs at $300+ million.
It will have to make $600 million just to break even.
Even if it's a good movie, it will not make much more than $700 million.
