The solo film, possibly titled X-Men Origins: Deadpool, was originally announced as possibly being in the works as early as May 6th. Today, however, Marvel Comics updated the article with official confirmation that the film is going into development. The Deadpool film will be produced by Lauren Shuler Donner and Marvel, with Reynolds reprising the role of Wade Wilson/Deadpool, the "Merc with the Mouth." The film is expected to explore Deadpool's origins and motivations.
