DUMBO TV Spot Released As ALADDIN Courts Jasmine In A New Image From Disney's Live-Action Remake

Disney has a whole host of live-action remakes of their beloved animated classics in the works at the moment, and three of them are hitting theaters this year. We might have to wait a bit longer to see something new from The Lion King, but we do have updates on both Dumbo and Aladdin, which are set to hit theaters on March 29 and May 24, respectively.

First up, Empire has shared a new official still from Aladdin, featuring the hero of the title (Mena Massoud) hanging out with Princess Jasmine (Naomi Scott) in the Agrabah marketplace. In addition, we have a 30-second TV spot for Dumbo which contains a few new shots of the adorable baby elephant taking flight.

Tell us, which of these adaptations are you most looking forward to? Did the recent first look at Will Smith's blue Genie turn you off Aladdin at all? Be sure to share your thoughts in the usual place.

@Forthas - that's interesting info ..... tdk is such an amazing film all around.

@knocturnalzen10 - It is funny...that I have always drawn parallels between the Bane fight with Batman in the sewer in The Dark Knight Rises and the Kilmonger and Black Panther fight at Warrior Falls. Those two had the same dramatic effect on me that no other similar fight scene has had.

@Forthas - Coogler loves Court of Owls.

“We were obsessed with The Dark Knight. That came out our first year of film school. We’ve always been obsessed and talked a lot about that great fan theory that might actually be true about how Heath Ledger’s Joker was war veteran who felt like he was screwed over by by the government."

@Forthas - the bane fight was beautifully brutal.... and the best part was the slow escalation of Bruce's despair as the fight continues. and the waterfall scene was so atmospheric with the build up of the tension ..... you felt T Challa losing grip of the crown

@BlackBeltJones - I really had no idea he was such a Batman fan. IF (and that is a big if) Black Panther won the Oscar for best picture...it would be so fitting that it was a film influenced by The Dark Kight!

@BlackBeltJones - that was the best part of Health's joker he's so ambiguous and that's how the character should be . one of the hugest points on while he's always rivaled batman is because he can't completely understand him .....

@knocturnalzen10 - YES!!! After both of those scenes...I felt uncomfortable in my seat. Both my heroes had their ass handed to them. It had this feeling as if the world order (good overcomes evil) was coming to an end. It made the heroes eventual triumph all the more satisfying.

@Forthas - I had listened to him on a podcast interview not long after BP had first dropped and he briefly mentioned how much he loved Scott Snyder's run.

Also, nice to see he loves the Arkham games too.

@Forthas - yea bane's monologue during a fight must have been so dejecting to Bruce lol
Forthas
Forthas - 2/21/2019, 6:57 AM
@BlackBeltJones - It would be cool if he could write a few comics runs. Maybe for Batman...if Marvel would let him (doubt it!)
Kumkani
Kumkani - 2/21/2019, 7:20 AM
@Forthas - A lot of people don't know this, but the Warrior Falls fight with Killmonger is from a story called Panther's Rage, which is very similar to Batman: Knightfall (which the Batman vs Bane fight comes from) where a hero fights a gauntlet of villains before the main boss totals the hero...except Panther's Rage predates Knightfall by like 20 years!

So the similarities in the fights are really there, but one could argue Knightfall is a coincidental copy of Panther's Rage.

@Soos - I enjoy both Cinderella and BATB, but nowhere near as much as TJB - that one was actually better than the original. I dig James overall, but that was Cate Blanchett's movie; she was perfect.
