Although full review are embargoed until March 23, the first reactions to
Mulan have now been shared on social media, and the majority of them are highly positive.
Some didn't seem to be quite as enamored with the film as others, but many critics and bloggers were bowled over by Niki Caro's lavish remake of the animated classic, with some hailing it as Disney's best live-action adaptation yet.
Caro's direction and Liu Yifei's performance along with the fight choreography and cinematography come in for the most praise, although the elements that were left out of the animated original (the songs, basically) were missed by some. There's also a few mentions of "problematic" moments.
Check out some of the Tweets below along with a series of international posters, and let us know if you plan on seeing the movie in theaters.
Mulan is set for release on March 27.
