It has been a while since Pixar's last original feature. By the time Onward is released, it will have been three years since a non-sequel has been released by the studio, their last being 2017's Coco. General audiences can agree that Pixar often does its best work when it isn't returning to old characters, and by its first look, Onward is no exception.

Starring Chris Pratt and Tom Holland as elf brothers, it seems as though Pixar is reaching into uncharted fantasy territory for the studio, mixing fantasy elements with a modern setting. David Ayer's Bright anyone? Check out the images and first poster:
