Disney (via Toonado.com) has announced that tickets are now on sale for The Little Mermaid, and to mark the occasion, we have a series of new posters from IMAX, RealD 3D, 4DX and Fandango.

We also have another teaser which includes snippets of new footage, and Fandango has shared a video featuring interviews with stars Halle Bailey and Melissa McCarthy, along with more previously unseen shots of Ariel (Halle Bailey) making her way to the "above world" against her father's wishes.

Check out the posters and featurettes below, and let us know if you plan on seeing Disney's latest live-action reimagining in theatres.

Bailey and McCarthy star alongside Javier Bardem as King Triton, Jacob Tremblay as Flounder, Daveed Diggs as Sebastian, and Awkwafina as Scuttle.

The Little Mermaid will feature music from the animated classic as well as four new songs. Lin-Manuel Miranda, who previously worked with Marshall on Mary Poppins Returns, will also compose original music for Mermaid along with Alan Menken.

The Little Mermaid is the beloved story of Ariel, a beautiful and spirited young mermaid with a thirst for adventure. The youngest of King Triton’s daughters, and the most defiant, Ariel longs to find out more about the world beyond the sea, and while visiting the surface, falls for the dashing Prince Eric. While mermaids are forbidden to interact with humans, Ariel must follow her heart. She makes a deal with the evil sea witch, Ursula, which gives her a chance to experience life on land, but ultimately places her life – and her father’s crown – in jeopardy.

The movie is set to swim into theaters on May 26, 2023.

@Origame - You know these studios only have one excuse for bad box office or ratings. This is why they race swap. Had they casted accurately, they could go to old reliable as an excuse when it performs poorly.

@Origame - Can't wait to hear the excuses the studio makes if this flops. And also can't wait to hear the excuses people make if this smashes. Either way, it's gonna be interesting.

@Unguviolet - really can't see a situation a movie getting this much backlash being a hit. This isn't like captain marvel where they gave it a boost by associating it with the story for endgame

@Origame - Maybe. We'll see. The comment section would be lit either way. Lol

@Origame - after Pinocchio, I'm convinced they have no clue how to tell the same story different. Every live action is cookie cutter, but without the charm or appeal of the old animated movies. I used to want a Hercules movie, not anymore lol

@Origame - Why because grown Men are upset at the casting? This film is for little girls.

@SonOfAGif - dude, they're clearly trying to appeal to the people who grew up with it.

Also, women hate it too.

So I just found out this morning that dreamworks is either going on the offense against this movie or chose an unbelievable coincidental year to release this.

Basically a giant middle finger to the little mermaid lol

@EZBeast - aside from Boss Baby, Dreamworks blows Disney Animation out of the water as of late in my opinion. They really have some strong animated franchises

@bkmeijer1 - amen! Puss in boots the last wish was hands down one of the best movies I saw last year and If this movie is a fraction as good I’ll be there to see it in theaters!

Never watched the cartoon, no intention of watching the live action garbage.

Hopefully it bombs at the box office, it demonstrates a distinct lack of creativity and made with the sole intent of claiming the original source material is problematic, insulting the core audience and fans.

@Scarilian - they've even gotta lie about the movie to make it sound bad.

For example, "kiss the girl" is being changed to address issues of consent, even though it was written for a scene where the girl in question clearly wants him to kiss her. The point of the song is Eric needed to get over his nerves and just go for it.
