Following reports that The Bear star Jeremy Allen White met with Marvel Studios about potentially taking over from Hugh Jackman as Wolverine in the MCU, it was only a matter of time before more actors were either rumored to be in the mix or threw their own hats in the ring.

It seems some buzz has been building around the possibility of The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power star Robert Aramayo joining a major franchise since his recent BAFTA win for his acclaimed performance in I Swear, and the actor was asked if he'd have any interest in donning the claws during an interview with Variety.

When the interviewer noted that he "walked in today, with the hair pretty grown out and big — I think I can see it," Aramayo responded: "I can’t even imagine. But you know what? You’re not the first person who’s said it, though."

"Can you imagine if that happened? I would be so scared. I absolutely love what [Jackman has] done with that role. And since we’re talking about X-Men, you’ve got to acknowledge Patrick Stewart. I was absolutely gutted. He’s one of those actors who was a big part of my childhood, like Harrison Ford. He did incredible work that so many different audiences watched. It’s so sad."

Variety then mentioned that Aramayo and Christopher Abbott, who will play Charles Xavier in the X-Men reboot, have the same PR representative, and asked the actor if there was anything he'd like to break exclusively.

"Oh shit! Oh my God. We do. You’re good! [Laughs.] I am working on something, but I can’t talk about it."

We'd be very surprised if this mysterious project was X-Men, but we have heard that at least one other actor has met with the studio about the Logan role.

Aramayo probably wouldn't be the first actor a lot of people think of when fan-casting for Wolverine, but his stunning turn in I Swear might just gain him some support.

After years of wondering what Marvel Studios had in store for the Children of the Atom, the X-Men reboot is finally starting to take shape, with Thunderbolts* director Jake Schreier set to helm and writers Sonny Lee Sung Jin (Beef) and Joanna Calo (The Bear) currently working on a new draft of Michael Lesslie's script.

More recently, the main cast of the long-awaited movie was announced at D23, with Sadie Sink set to reprise her Spider-Man: Brand New Day role as Jean Grey, alongside Inde Navarrette as Rogue, Kit Connor as Cyclops, Christopher Abbott as Professor Charles Xavier, Samara Weaving as Emma Frost, Maya Boyd as Storm, and Adam Driver as Nathan Milbury/Mr. Sinister.

We'd later learn that Gen V and Scream 7 star Asa Germann will play Angel, and The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping star Ben Wang is in talks to play Iceman. Beast is also expected to round out the original team of five from the comics, and a recent rumor claimed A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms star Peter Claffey has landed the role of the MCU's Hank McCoy.
