There are a lot of rumors relating to Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness floating around at the moment, and we can now add another to the ever-growing list. This latest report comes from the guys over at Fandomwire, who do have a solid enough track record when it comes to scoops (although they have also been known to post some bogus stories, so always best to take these things with a healthy dose of scepticism until we learn more).
Potential spoilers for Sam Raimi's Doctor Strange sequel ahead.
In The Multiverse of Madness is shaping up to be a pretty wild ride, and after the events of Spider-Man: No Way Home and the recently released trailer, we know that the movie will introduce quite a few new characters to The MCU. Only a couple have been confirmed, but previous rumors have indicated that the likes of Charles Xavier (possibly played by Patrick Stewart), a member of the Fantastic Four, and even Hugh Jackman's Wolverine may all feature.
Now, we're hearing that none other than Black Bolt of The Inhumans is also set to put in an appearance.
We have no idea if this report holds more water than any of the other rumors, but Black Bolt is a member of The Illuminati in the comics, and it's previously been claimed that Strange will assemble a version of that team in the upcoming sequel.
In related news, a new synopsis for the movie was shared by Marvel Studios Japan (via the Cosmic Circus). The English translation is a little rough, but it does make for an interesting read.
"The door of the multiverse, full of mystery and madness, opens. Now that Iron Man and Captain America have left after a fierce battle in Avengers: Endgame, former genius surgeon and the strongest magician of them all, Doctor Strange, is expected to play an active role as a central figure in the Avengers. However, using his magic to manipulate time and space at will with a forbidden spell that is considered the most dangerous has opened the door to a mysterious madness called “the Multiverse.”
To restore a world where everything is changing, Strange seeks help from his ally Wong, the Sorcerer Supreme, and the Avengers’ most powerful Scarlet Witch, Wanda. But a terrible threat looms over humanity and the entire universe that no longer can be done by their power alone. Even more surprising, the greatest threat in the universe looks exactly like Doctor Strange …” “Director Sam Raimi, who has expressed a unique world view, will captivate the whole world with overwhelming scale and unprecedented visual experience that will transcend time and space!”
