WandaVision saw Wanda Maximoff transform into the Scarlet Witch, and according to Agatha Harkness, she's now more powerful than the Sorcerer Supreme. With the Darkhold in hand, the Avenger could quite easily be the MCU's strongest superhero...or should that be supervillain?
Talking to Empire Online, Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness producer Richie Palmer teased Wanda's evolution. "I don’t know who’s more powerful than Wanda," he said. "Meeting the Wanda Maximoff at the end of Endgame would have been a lot for Strange. Who comes out on top as the most powerful being in the universe? Maybe we find out at the end of the movie."
"Madness has many different definitions," Palmer said of the sequel's title and how that affects both Wanda and Stephen Strange. "It’s maddening for Doctor Strange to have to watch the love of his life marry someone else. And it’s maddening for Wanda to have been told, 'There’s a book, and there’s a chapter about you in that book you should read, and secrets you don’t know about yourself.'"
As for Elizabeth Olsen, she relished the chance to share the screen with Benedict Cumberbatch for more than just a scene or two. "I really was excited to do dialogue with him. I really enjoyed our constant conversation, of analysis and trying to understand where both characters are coming from."
Something tells us we'll see Strange and Wanda do more than just talk in the Doctor Strange sequel. The stage appears to be set for a major battle, anyway, and a new still has also been released showcasing the Scarlet Witch that you can check out in all its glory in the Tweet below.
