Benedict Cumberbatch Confirms That DOCTOR STRANGE Will Return For AVENGERS: INFINITY WAR
Most of us figured as much anyway, but just in case there was any doubt, Benedict Cumberbatch has confirmed that he'll be reprising the role of Doctor Steven Strange for Avengers: Infinity War...
The Russo brothers proved that they were more than capable of handling a super-powered ensemble in Captain America: Civil War, but they're going to have to up their game considerably in order to balance the multitude of new faces that are set to join the already significant ranks of Earth's Mightiest Heroes in Avengers: Infinity War. Though Marvel still hasn't officially confirmed which characters will be joining the fray, the Guardians of The Galaxy are looking fairly certain, and now we can add Doctor Strange to the list.
During an interview with Empire (via Express UK), actor Benedict Cumberbatch revealed that he will indeed return as The Sorcerer Supreme while discussing the “logistical challenge of aligning his schedule with those of Robert Downey Jr, Chris Hemsworth, Elizabeth Olsen and Paul Bettany”.
“To get us all together will be quite something. That’s why this character is being introduced, to open up the next chapter. So watch this space to see how that unfolds.”
Not a big surprise by any means, but it's nice to have it confirmed. Before the big team-up, audiences will get to see what Cumberbatch brings to the role of Doctor Strange when his solo movie hits theaters later this year.
