This week while speaking to Bleeding Cool Kevin Feige revealed that Marvel had plans to finally tackle the Secret Identity element. Many fans speculated that he was referring to Daredevil and while that’s a good guess I sense two problems. First, as he said the idea wouldn’t be introduced in the first movie and while he might’ve meant that they wouldn’t explore it at the beginning focusing instead on the origin story, it looked as though the character wouldn’t have a secret identity until the sequel which wouldn’t be possible with DD. Second, from what we’ve seen Daredevil doesn’t fit with their plans up until at least Phase 4 or maybe even 5. Looking at those two problems there is a character that fits with what they’re going for, a character that fits into both ideas and that character is none other than Captain Mar-Vell.

For those of you not familiar with the character, Captain Marvel was a Kree soldier sent to earth to spy on the humans and see if they are a threat to the Kree Empire. While they’re he eventually adopts the secret identity of Walter Lawson, a scientist he met there. If Marvel were to give him a his own movie than we could have a first movie depicting the events before he goes to earth or maybe even his arrival on the Blue Planet. In a sequel he could see him adopt the secret identity and come to know our race. This idea seems to fit with the Cosmic Cinematic Universe that James Gunn hinted at in an interview with Fandango the past month. It’s also worth noting that next year we will see one of the most famous Kree, Ronan the Accuser, in Gunn’s space adventure, Guardians of the Galaxy.

Anyway, who do you think Kevin Feige meant? Let me know bellow and if you liked this article and want more don’t forget to hit the thumbs up button.
