Trilogy Leads

Mark Hamill as Luke Skywalker - Carrie Fisher as Leia Organa Solo - Harrison Ford as Han Solo

We find the heroes of the Original Trilogy 30 years later. Leia Organa Solo now presides over the New Galactic Republic she helped build as Grand Chancellor. While she briefly trained in the Force, she has focused on politics rather than become a Jedi. She remains married to Han Solo, who holds a purely ceremonial title in the Republic military and, as he grows older, finds himself evermore bored with life as a respectable citizen. Luke Skywalker, meanwhile, oversees the New Jedi Order on Dagobah. The new Order has sought to reform the failings of the old way. Luke himself found love and married, only for his wife to die in defense of the innocent, leaving him an overprotective father to their surviving child, Cadence.

Samara Weaving as Breha Solo - John Boyega as Garth Pellaeon - Jessica Henwick as Cadence Skywalker

The second child of Han and Leia, Breha takes much more after her father. A reckless, thrill-seeking adventurer with a wild streak none of her Jedi training could tame. She is stationed on Coruscant, where Luke hopes her mother's watchful eyes may keep her out of trouble. / Garth is an ace pilot and the son of the Supreme Leader of the Imperial Remnent. Years of placing second to his older siblings left him with a fierce competitive spirit, but his priviliged upbringing has also left him naive. / Since her mother's death at an early age, Luke has rarely let Cadence out of his sight. She has trained diligently under Master Kenth Hamner and, while her powers are far from the levels of her parents or cousine Breha, the time has come for her to pass the Trials. She is eager to finally leave Dagobah and Luke behind to defend a galaxy she barely knows.

Oscar Isaac as Kenth Hamner -  Adam Driver as Ben Solo - Ryan Potter as Havi Tarril

Luke's strong right hand on Dagobah, Kenth was one of the first Jedi that Luke recruited to the new order and personally trained. Strong in the Force, stern and with a stringent attitude towards rules and proper procedure. Hamner was the only Jedi Luke trusted to apprentice his daughter to. / Ben is the firstborn of Leia and Han, and in a suprise to all, was not born force-sensitive. As he grows, he has seemed to take this discovery in stride and followed his mother into politics. However, he secretly maintains a resentment towards the powers of his sister and cousin. / Havi is an exuberant and somewhat naive Aleen Jedi Padawan to Master Kara Li. Born into the era of the New Republic, he is largely oblivious to the scourge of war.

Episode VII: A Fragile Peace

Dermot Crowley as Crix Madine - Rob Morgan as Supreme Leader Pellaeon - Domhnall Gleeson as K'lrrt

Crix Madine defected to the Rebellion and has been the head of the Republic Intelligence Bureau since its inception. An old friend of Han, Crix never lost his wartime conviction, nor his paranoia. / The son of famed Admiral Gilad Pellaeon, the Supreme Leader took his father's place at the head of the Imperial Remnent, which has survived by rejecting the wanton cruelty of Palpatine and keeping the spartan military effeciency to transform some of the most lawless systems in the galaxy into a preeminent military regime. He maintains mixed feelings about merging with the New Republic, but seeks to do what is best for his people. / K'lrrt is a fast-talking Klaatu spice-runner on Corellia, always staying one step ahead of the Imperial remnent. But one risk to many left him to turn informant to the Republic to save his hide.

Max von Sydow as Darth Plaguesis - Gwendoline Christie as Jedi Master Kara Li - Billie Lourd as Kaza

Darth Plaguesis is alive. After seemingly being killed by his apprentice, the ancient Sith Lord has hidden away deep within the crystal caves of Crait. And now, it seems he is finally ready to make his move. But what has he been waiting for? / Kara Li is a Mon Cal Jedi, widely esteemed as a negotiator and peace-keeper. She and her padawan Havi have been assigned to investigate rumors from the far Outer Rim of a force-user searching for a Sith temple. / Kaza is a young Umbaran Sith acolyte taken in by a tribe of Sith formed by a former Inquisitor. A favored pupil of the mysterious and elusive Darth Callus, she is seeking out a legendary temple, hoping to win a place as the shrouded dark lord's true apprentice.

The Plot

30 Years after the Battle of Endor, peace and stability have been brought to the galaxy under the authority of the New Republic. But in the shadows, a new threat is lurking. On Coruscant, years of talks are about to culminate in Grand Chancellor Organa-Solo's proudest goal: a treaty with the Imperial Remnent that will at last unite the entire galaxy once again. Leia is prepared to retire once the treaty is signed.

But not all is well in the Solo family, however. Breha's antics are frequently the cause of scandal, much to the chagrin of Ben, who is consistently assigned to clean up his little sister's messes. Han is no help at all, secretly encouraging his daughters wild side as the stir-crazy old smuggler vicariously relives his youth. While participating in an illegal speeder race on the lower levels, Breha meets a mysterious rival pilot. Their contest causes substantial property damage and ends in a moment of romance before Breha realizes the mystery racer is Garth Pellaeon himself.

After a family fight, news arrives that Cadence is about to complete her Jedi Trials. Breha insists on returning for the cermonies. Leia expresses hope to go as well, but ultimately listens to Ben that the meeting with the Imperial remnent cannot be delayed. They part ways: Breha to Dagobah, while Leia and Ben set course for Corellia, the new Imperial Capital, with a reluctant Han and Chewie in tow. Garth's overt interest in Breha causes immediate tension between him and Ben, fearful of any potential scandal.

Breha reaches Dagobah in time to see Candace complete her Trials and be annoited a Jedi Knight under the proud eyes of Luke and her master, Kenth Hamner. The reunion is tense, as it becomes apparent that Luke and Hamner are disappointed Breha's assignement has not tempered her behavior. But Cadence is overjoyed to see her cousin. When a call for backup comes in from master and apprentice on mission at a distant world, Breha volunteers to respond. Luke reluctantly allows an eager Cadence to go along on the mission.

On Corellia, Supreme Leader Pellaeon welcomes his esteemed guests. Han is depressed to see what the legalistic order has done to the wild world that was his old home. All of the pomp and circumstance is ultimatey too much for him, but he gets a spark of interest when he overhears General Crix Madine discussing an investigation. He and Chewie strongarm their way into Madine's team. They meet with an informant, K'Lrrt, who leads them deep into the seedy underbelly of Corellia that still remains beneath the Imperial sheen.

The peace talks take a disastrous turn when a terrorist attack devastates the capital. Leia uses the Force to save herself and many others, but the Supreme Leader is killed. His father's death sets Garth on the warpath, and he reluctantly turns to Ben for help to uncover a conspriacy to plunge the galaxy back into war.

After a brief pitstop to try and make her cousin have fun, Breha arrives with Cadence on Crait. They successfully locate Master Li and Havi, who reveal they tracked a possible member of a rumored Sith tribe to the planet. The feeling of the Dark Side here is palpable. Together, the Jedi team make their way to the temple, plagued at every step by interference from the temple guards and from Kaza herself. During one such night attack, Cadence comes face to face with the acolyte. After a short fight, they seem to have a moment of bonding, before Cadence lets her rival escape.

In the Corellian underworld, Han and the intelligence team find themselves trapped in the Imperial lockdown. Unable to call for backup do to the unsanctioned nature of the mission, Madine insists on pressing on to pursue the root of suspicious weapons and chemical shipments. Meanwhile, Ben and Garth take an alarmingly aggressive approach to finding the terrorists as a deeply concerned Luke arrives to ensure Leia is alright. In a stunning display of his skill, he swoops in and takes down the entire ring of attackers, leaving his nephew unpraised in the background once again.

Back on Crait, the Jedi make it into the temple and confront Kaza, who offers no resistance. Plaguesis then reveals himself, and the truth: He is not behind any scheme to plunge the galaxy back into war. Instead, he has been preparing since his supposed death to face the coming of a mysterious threat he encountered in his travels, one that could lay waste to the whole galaxy and even The Force itself. Unfortuantely, it seems he is too late. The power in the temple shuts down and a mysterious assasin of an unrecognized species emerges and kills the Sith Lord. Master Li moves to stop the killer's escape, but is herself slain. The assasin gloats that the final war has come before leaving in a strangly biological ship.

On Corellia, peace seems to have returned. Leia has a heart-to-heart with Luke, urging him that he has to let go and let Cadence live her life. But all is not as it seems. Beneath the surface of the planet, Madine's team finds two aliens, the same species as the assasin on Crait, have constructed a massive bomb tied to the planet's gravitational fields. Madine is killed but K'lrrt, Han and Chewie shoot their way back to the surface to spread the warning. Luke rushes to action as the planet evacuates. He defeats the aliens, but realizes the bomb cannot be stopped.

As Corellia evacuates, Luke stays behind, using up the full strength of his power in the Force to hold the doomed planet together, allowing as many as possible to escape. When he finally succombs, the planet implodes, creating a wormhole out of which a formiddable, alien fleet emerges. The survivors barely escape the sudden attack.

On Crait, the duel shock through the Force of Luke's death and the sudden intrusion of an outside force leaves the Jedi reeling. Breha vows to take Havi on as her own apprentice and prepares to rush back to the scene of the disaster. But Cadence has other plans, and smuggles herself onto Kaza's vessel as the acolyte charts a course back to her elusive master.
