The story could go in many ways, stylistically It would be amazing to see them going through the catastrophe (everyday thing) as opposed to viewing its beginning (flashbacks maybe). The meddling youngsters could be in search of a cure, safe haven or are trying to find the source. It’ll be a pretty cool film to behold especially with a dangerous talking dog!
Production Crew
Director – Ernest R. Dickerson
bigshow2312: What was needed, of course, was someone who had experience when it came to telling a story from the horror/drama world; Dickerson is no stranger. He has directed critically acclaimed shows such as
The Walking Dead,
Dexter,
Treme & the pilot episode of
Low Winter Sun. Not to mention he has done some incredible cinematography work for Spike Lee. This guy truly gets around and would be perfect as the director.
Cinematography- Lance Acord
dmb1511: Where the Wild Things Are (Lance's finest work) is a cinematically beautiful film. Even if you manage to dislike the movie, the way everything is conveyed will make you enjoy the amount of work and effort put in.
Producers- Ruben Fleischer & Gavin Polone
bigshow2312: Zombieland is the top influence of this fancast. If the producers of the Z-Land film were ever interested in developing a live-action R-rated Scooby film, then they should truly consider this cast.
Music- Childish Gambino
dmb1511: I am a huge fan of Donald Glover as an actor and writer, even his music begins to impress me (some of it). His music is surprising due to the solidarity and uniqueness of it. One of his tracks stood out to my brother and I as the instrumental anthem of mayhem properly titled “Sunrise”. It is unlike new music today.
Cast
Fred Jones Jr. - Michael B. Jordan
dmb1511: Michael B. Jordan, in the majority of his films is the epitome of what Fred is to the Mystery crew/gang: intelligent, leading and straightforward. Since we foresee a more realistic approach, and Jordan is stepping out of his comfort zone, I would like to see a more egocentric less dry version of the character (unlike Freddie Prinze Junior).
Daphne Blake – Jordin Sparks
bigshow2312: Call us crazy but Jordin was the first to come to mind; she’s beautiful, bubbly & all-around talented. Furthermore she has a huge fan-base, which could draw a wider range of a much needed audience. I truly think that she would be a wonderful addition to the cast if she could tap into character.
Velma Dinkley – Rihanna
dmb1511: The typical image of Velma will have to be adjusted to fit a more modern audience. I would like to see Rihanna play a nerdy version of Velma that is quiet until she has to speak and will kick ass if necessary (the perfect role for her).
Norville “Shaggy” Rogers – Nathan Stephenson
bigshow2312: Most know for his role in the
Degrassi series &
Radio Free Roscoe, I felt like we needed someone who can alter the traditional Shaggy and deliver a new grounded version of the character. Shaggy would still be the screw-up of the group and obviously part of the humorous relief but it’ll be in a more serious manner.
Heartstopper | Bob Keen | Meredith Henderson | Nathan Stephenson | Movie Trailer | Review
Scooby Doo – Keith David
dmb1511: When we made our decision for Scoob, we knew we would need an actor that had a magnificent voice, but also had to consider the fact that this character would have to be comic relief for a more adult version of the Hanna-Barbera classic. Keith David is our guy because you NEVER see him play more than an old guy with an epic voice in his films. I would love to see him play our version of a great dane with a “potty-mouth”.
