First off this isn't going to be based on the games but an idea I had on what could make a cool Batman spin off movie featuring his villains, with Arkham Asylum this movie could go to really dark places and explores areas of the villains not seen in Batman movies.

Anyway without further natter here's my pitch...

Arkham Asylum

Its dark and raining in Gotham City as the camera follows a taxi leaving the city and heading to the outskirts, it goes up a winding road surrounded by tree's, gates and warning signs before reaching a security gate. A large security guard walks to the taxi and then allows it through where it finally reaches a tall gate with the word Arkham on top of it leading to a drive way to a large gothic castle like asylum.

Here we are introduced to Dr. Dennis Novick he looks up at the tall building and we see the building is already scaring him, stepping up the stairs to the main enterance Dennis walks in and is greeted by the secretary 'Annie Robinson' just as he sits down he is approched by Jeremiah Arkham the head of the asylum who introduces himself as Dr. Jeremiah Arkham.
Dr. Arkham explains that he became head after his uncle Amadeus Arkham went insane and dissapeared he goes on to explain how Dennis is replacing the last medical doctor that has been signed off due to depression and that Dennis should tell him of any doubts working in Arkham Asylum as he knows that word spreads on how dangerous the place is, Dennis reassures Dr. Arkham that he hasn't heard of the rumours, this leads to Jeremiah telling Dennis the history of Arkham and gives him a tour of the Asylum.

The audience is then introduced to the inmates, six inmates sit in front of a television when cries can be heard from a door leading to unit clerance five a unit that holds dangerous inmates, the six look at each other with worry when a nearby guard tells them to kee watching the TV.
inside the clerance five unit we see inmates that are clearly insane biting themselves, crying, talking to themselves and then the camera pans to a caged inmate Victor Zsasz he sits biting his lip as he watches a group of guards talking, Dennis and Dr. Arkham enter the unit and Dennis is introuduced to the guards he catches eye contact with Zsasz to which the guards joke that he should watch out for him as he's 'stabby'.

Meanwhile in another unit Edward Nigma sits in is cell, the walls are covered in cut out crosswords and other puzzels he's reading out a crossword clue giggling to himself when suddenly he's shouted at to shut up from the cell next door, the camera pans in and we see the cell is dark but we can see a man sat on a chair smoking a ciggarette he turns to blow out smoke and Nigma calls out "Calm down Harvey..... we don't want to get other you angry" Harvey looks down at his feet in frustration and we see the other side of his face clearly showing him to be Two-Face.
On the otherside of the cells we see a cell labeled 'Quinzel . H' inside we see a beautiful but sad Harley Quinn lying on her bed holding a picture and sobbing "He'll come back" just then a guard from outside the cell grins as he peers into her cell "Don't count on it next time he comes back he's for the chair".

One month into working at Arkham Dennis is in a treatment room with Nigma he tells Edward that he has been appointed his therapist due to being a doctor in both medical and mental health, Edward shows interest in having a new doctor but Dennis reassures that he believes Edward not to be as insane as people state him to be, Edward laughs and lists his last five crimes and how it took 'Him' to take him down. Dennis states that 'Him' isn't to be mentioned in these sessions, something that knocks Edward speechless, Once the session is finished Dennis is walking down a corridor when he see's guards rushing out of the door and to the inmate transfer unit, he hurrys along to see when he is slapped with fear by the sound of hysterical laughter a guard rushes past him looking back to him and shouting "He's back!..... Jokers back!".

We see six guards dragging the hysterical laughing man across the floor via straight jacket (we only see the man from the back and can see he has dark green hair), they throw him in a padded cell and lock the door multiple times we then see the feet of a man walking down the special unit as the camera peers up we see it is Commissioner James Gordon he is accompanied by two police officers and he peers into the cell, turning to the guards he notes that he took some bashing but nothing he hasn't healed from before.
Dennis is called into Dr. Arkham's office and told that the inmate brought in is known only as The Joker and that he has escaped Arkham more than once and so Dennis wont be required to have any sessions with him as he is deemed too dangerous for a doctor with Dennis's lack of experience, Dennis leaves the office annoyed the camera fades to black.

Two weeks later

Dennis is sat on a chair in a large room most of the room taken up by a dark tank of dark water, Dennis speaks "Mr. Jones?" but we see nothing the water is too dark, again Dennis asks for Mr. Jones and gets no reply so he begins to read some notes about Mr. Jones when he mentions Mr. Jones residing in the Gotham City sewer system in a den and eating human beings a figure swims by in the tank, Dennis carries on and notes that Mr. Jones has had a hard life and maybe his dissconection from his family at an early age resulted in his crinimal acts just then Mr. Jones lets his presence be known slapping his large hands at the glass of the tank and coming close showing of his crocodile like skin, he truley is a frightening creature he looks directly at Dennis and says the bodies of warm blood only made him hunger for more and that the name Mr. Jones disgusts him as he preffers 'Killer Croc'.
Security guard Aaron Cash stands closley beside Dennis and Croc turns his attention towards the guard looking at his artifical arm, remarking that he still tastes the guards arm as it was the last warm blood he had run down his tongue, Dennis ends the session and leaves for his office where we see he is drinking heavily he looks out of the small window in his office that looks out to Gotham he sees the Bat-signal and an angry look comes across his face.

During a therapy session with Harvey Dent Dennis asks the former District Attorney how he feels about all the cases he won before his turn to crime being questioned now he is in Arkham but Dent simply states "That was our life before, this is our life now", Dennis states that he is the same man he once was but has fallen on hard times and will one day find a way to go back to that old life Dent shoots out of his chair and grabs Dennis shouting at him to look at his heavily scarred face and that there is no going back from that, guards rush in and take Dent away as Dent calls out "We are now! We are now!".
As Harvey is dragged back to his cell we hear the laughter of the joker who has recently been brought onto the same unti as the others, he calls out to Harvey "How many are there now Harv two? three? or four? Ahahahaha!" Dennis looks out of the room and over to Jokers cell and is shocked to find Joker staring right back at him. The Joker stands at his cell door and watches as Dennis closes the door to break the eye contact leaving the Joker smiling evily before he states "You'll help wont you Dr. Novick".

On the other side of Arkham in the research department we are introuduced to Dr. Penelope Young as she and Dr. Arkham disscuss the idea of being able to contain the compound that gives Clayface his powers but Dr. Arkham states that Basil Karlo hasn't shape shifted in months in fact he has become almost the perfect inmate, Penelope then notes that they should still try before Dr. Arkham reminds her that the last doctor that used the department to make their own formula's has their very own cell to which Dr. Young states she knows very well where Crane's cell is.
During a session with Harley Quinn Dennis says he is glad she stopped self harming and she replies its because her man is back, Dennis looks at her and says "The Joker?" to which Harley gives off an evil giggle and says the Joker likes Dr. Novick, Dennis tells her that he has never had a session with the Joker and Harley again giggles saying it would be the Joker giving the session, before she leaves she asks if she can tell Dennis a secret he agrees and as he leans forward she spits her gum at him the guards take her back to her cell and Dennis returns to his office and is sick.

That night an inmates drops to the floor and begins to have a seizure the guards gather around him as one runs to get Dennis to help, Nigma looks out at his cell door window at the comotion his eyes flicking from left to right as if working out a puzzle then he begins to laugh, Harvey also at his cell door turns around and sits on his bed muttering "Idiots", Dennis rushes out to help when he gets to the inmate he is shocked to find the inamte has a huge grin the other guards look at each other their faces show horrified expresions.
Dennis asks where his cell is and they point, next to the Jokers suddenly a bang is heard in another unit and the guards are alerted that they are needed there, as they run to the door they are thrown back by giant plant vines, Dennis is tapped on the shoulder and turns to find Harley has picked the lock of her door "Thanks for the keys Doc!" she remarks showing she had earlier picked Dennis's pocket.

Dennis in horror runs from her and out of the unit where suddenly alarms begin to sound off, Dennis continues to run passing screaming inmates and guards a cloud of musty yellow gas fills the room Dennis see's this and runs through another door. Harley unlocks The Jokers cell and they embrace in a kiss as she throws the keys to another inmate allowing him to unlock his and every other inmates cell, Dennis has found a locked door at the end of a corridor out of fear he bashes the door in walking into an old dark unit he finds an office and hides.
Guards in body armour holding sheilds and battons slowly walk down the corridor suddenly the yellow gas fills the room sending the guards to their knees crying in fear, out of the cloud of gas The Scarecrow skips down the corridor singing behind him he is followed by inmates as they flood the room attacking the guards, a crash comes from the windows above the inamtes look up in shock as a dark figure drops down.

Two-Face and the Riddler make their way down a quiet corridor out of their inmate clothes and into their more familiar costumes, Riddler questions Two-Face where he will go once they escape but Harvey throws him against a wall and points his gun in his face stating where ever he goes Riddler won't be coming, meanwhile the Joker and Harley are followed by a large group of inmates heading into a hall where a group of Arkham employee's are hiding as they walk towards it Joker notices the door Dennis broke through and they decide to enter.
Dennis is hiding under a desk when he hears them enter he tries to crawl into a hiding space but is caught by Harley he screams as inmates drag him across the room, Joker kneels down and taunts Dennis about being everyones favorite doctor.

Dennis is taken to the hall where the other employees are found the Joker laughs as the inmates gather around them, the vines from before enter the hall carrying Poison Ivy with them, Joker greets her and then a slam as the ground breaks through and Killer Croc climbs up joining the crowd.
Dennis crys as he looks around at the horror of the employees, doctors and guards are dragged into the hall he knows the inamtes will tear them apart, then suddenly a smoke cannister rolls into the room and the dark figure from before drops down Dennis looks up and see's The Batman fighting through the inmates.
His eyes fill with tears and he stands up "You its you! your the reason they are all here! its because you that they become this!" Batman turns to look at him and Dennis runs as if to attack Batman when suddenly Joker grabs Dennis and stabs him throwing him to the floor laughing "I don't think so Denny!" Batman grabs the Joker delivering a knock out punch.

Hours later the hall is emptied and inmates are taken to the medical bay, we see Commissioner Gordon talking to Dr. Arkham about Batman leaving before any police officers got there but are now on a city wide search of Two-Face and the Riddler, the camera then pans out to a very special unit in a slim tower like unit sat right on top of Arkham, the tiny unit is dark and there are only four cells it seems abandoned then in one cell we see Dennis his wound bandaged he sit completely insane.

So there we have it is it good enough? what do you guys and gals think?
