Captain Marvel Who Can Pull it Off

Captain Marvel Who Can Pull it Off

Phase 3 of Marvel is well on its way and Captain Marvel is well on her to the big screen. Captain Marvel aka Ms. Marvel is slowly becoming the face of Marvel and deservedly so. Here are some unusual but, qualified candidates that can bring her to life.

I’m all into Marvel right now and I really wanted to fan cast Ms. Marvel. I’ve been reading a bunch of different fan cast and a fan favorite seems to be Emily Blunt for good reason. She was considered, as many Marvel fanboys will recognize as Black Widow. Many expect, or hope she will get the opportunity to play the role of Ms. Marvel aka Captain Marvel. Along with her I’ve seen names like Charlize Theron Jessica Beil, Alice Eve, Ronda Rousey, Natalie Domer and another popular one is Yvonne Strahovski. For this fan cast I will attempt to bring some unique actresses into the fold.

WARNING: Marvel has a tendency to Cast out of left field so there will be a few curve balls.

Claire Holt (27)

She will be one name that not many people would recognize, but I choose her strictly from her role as the tough, string, yet kindhearted vampire Rebekah Mikaelson on Vampire Diaries and The Originals.

Hannah New (31)

She’s unknown to a lot of people, but if you saw Black Sails and her work as Eleanor Guthrie as the influential owner of the tavern. New possesses the looks and plays a strong leader seeking independence on the show.

Rachal Nichols (35)

Wether she’s a red head or blonde Ms. Nichols does her thing on the silver screen and the big screen. Right now her show Continuum is getting rave reviews where she plays a detective from 2077 stuck in the past. She played Tamara in Conan where she resembled the closets to a big screen hero. She’s 5’10 so she has the stature to match the look, and acting ability.

Maggie Grace (31)

She may not have been the leading lady in many movie, but she knows her way around a sequel as Kim Mills in all the Taken movies and Irina in the Twilight Saga. I have no doubt that she could play Ms. Marvel. She has played restively string characters, most have shown both vulnerability and strength like her character in Lockout.

Kate Beckinsale (41)

Kate Beckinsale is an action star; her resume is loaded with work that suggests she could kill the role as Ms. Marvel. Underworld is a prime example as to why she is excellent for the role, she would bring a ton of followers with her as she brings the best out of Ms. Marvel.

Katheryn Winnick (37)

I’ve seen her on a few lists, but not enough for me to exclude her. She’s a TV actress excelling on History’s Vikings as Lagertha. On TV she plays a power, strong, heroic figure and she shows some serious fighting skills.

Rachel McAdams (36)

McAdams was a Mean Girl and couldn’t make a decision on The Notebook. What makes her great for this part is her gritty performance on True Detective as Ani Bezzerides. She has versatility to pull off a duel role Carol Danvers the intelligence agent and the heroic leader Ms. Marvel.

Blake Lively (27)

The Gossip Girl turned big screen rising star is poised to take the role as Ms. Marvel. My reason is her brief stint in Green Lantern as Carol Ferris. Ok maybe not that, but she was good in her role in The Town. She did really well in Savages and I really thought she showed she was ready to be a leading lady with her performance in Age of Adaline. Of all the actresses on the list I think she brings a fresh face and major potential. She would be one of my top choices to play Ms. Marvel.

This concludes my list. Hopefully you enjoyed, as mentioned there are some notable names mentioned, which was done intentionally. Please like, share, and comment, leave some suggestions you would like to see play Ms. Marvel.

Depends.

If they go 30s, then Emily Blunt, Charlize Theron, Natalie Dormer, etc.

If they're going young like mid-20s, then I want Mackenzie Davis (HALT AND CATCH FIRE, THE MARTIAN) or Brie Larson (SCOTT PILGRIM, SHORT TERM 12, 21 JUMP STREET, TRAINWRECK).

My god Mackenzie Davis is amazing in Halt and Catch Fire, such a hidden gem of a show.

I think you forgot to press the lock key when changing the image size.

Kathryn Winnick is really up there, for me.
Kate Beckinsale and Rachel Nichols would also really suit the role well.
Claire, Hannah and Maggie I can't really comment on.
I can't see Rachel McAdams and Blake Lively beyond dramatic actors.

After seeing Blake Lively on Age of Adaline, where she gave an amazing performance,
I could see her as Captain Marvel, plus her body is fantastic.

- Claire Holt is a wonderful, out of the box choice! She really is a talented woman, and is a total bad ass on TV. I'm hoping she can transition to a movie star.

Overall my top choice personally is Emily Blunt.

sickboy76 - yeah I was really tired of seeing the retreads. Blunt I get has a huge following, but there are more than two actresses that would do very well as Ms. Marvel.

oMonRo - I understand where your,re coming from, but I disagree about Blake Lively. I really think she has the potential to play Ms. Marvel because of her acting ability. Marvel won't be funny like Spider Man or anything. And McAdams has done her share of comedic roles which shows her versatility. Currently she's kicking butt on True Detective.
