A Blackhawk helicopter lands near a hanger on a private runway. On the runway sits a private jet plane prepping for takeoff.
The chopper’s cargo door opens with six Shadows exiting along with Bane. Following their protection, Krieger and Talia exit and begin making their way toward the jet.
Standing in front of the jet’s entrance door is a descent sized man with a buzzed blonde haircut. Talia signals for Bane and the Shadows to hang back. Talia stops to hand Bane her briefcase.
Talia: “Take this back to base and wait for my signal.”
Bane: “As you wish.”
Talia and Krieger make their way up the planes entrance steps. The greeter simply nods as they walk past entering the plane and then quietly follows them inside locking the door behind.
INT: JET PLANE PASSENGER AREA
The first thing their eyes meet is the sharply dressed Norman Osborne fixing himself a drink.
Osborne pauses his activity and walks over to greet his guest.
Osborne: “Welcome aboard my paradise. Glad you could make it.”
The trio exchange greetings
Osborne: “Please take a seat. I’m sorry to hear about your incident in Bosnia.”
Talia shrugs it off: “Collateral damage. You know the game.”
Osborne smirks taking his seat: “Fortunately I do. “
Osborne turns his attention toward Krieger
Osborne: “Captain, very excited to have you and your services on board.”
Krieger: “Thank you. Unfortunate Mr. Cade was unable to continue on.”
Osborne: “John became expendable the moment he couldn’t bring in Wayne. I have no need for people who can’t pull their own weight. Luckily I didn’t hang this entire operation on Wayne. I decided to become proactive and recruit….”
A man walks up behind Talia and Krieger’s sitting down beside Osborne. Both Talia and Krieger’s mouths nearly drop.
Osborne (continued): “Dr. Victor von Doom to our little venture.”
Von Doom’s once metal skin has now been replaced with artificial material resembling human flesh making him a normal looking man.
Von Doom: “What can I say, money does buy everything.”
Talia looking the Doctor up and down: “Obviously but you missed a spot.”
Von Doom looks down at his wrist revealing a silver area not covered in the fleshy material. Annoyed Von Doom pulls his sleeve further down covering it.
Osborne: “The Doctor here has connections at K2 allowing us to begin drilling.”
Krieger: “Have you been able to pin point the energy source?”
Osborne smiles: “More than just pin point.”
Osborne turns looking at the man who greeted Talia and Krieger at the plane: “Mr. Brock would you please.”
Brock nods and manipulates a key bad causing the light to dim and a portion of the wall to slide revealing a computer screen. The screen comes to life displaying thermal energy readings.
Osborne: “These readings were taken thirty six hours ago and have continued to grow stronger by the hour. The energy signatures stem from this central cube shaped object located deep within the mountain.”
Von Doom continues: “The drillers are moving at a pace that puts them making contact with the object in forty seven hours. That should be enough time before our two falling stars enter our atmosphere.”
Talia: “What’s the plan once you extract the energy source?”
Osborne: “Move it and figure out what we’re dealing with. If it’s alien, which I’m guessing it is, we will make one of the greatest discoveries in mankind’s history.”
Talia: “You have no concern about the strange contacts spanning the globe?”
Osborne smirks almost happy she asked the question: “Talia surely Captain Nazi here can educate you that there’s always an ace in the hole when combat is on the horizon.”
Talia leaning toward Osborne: “And let me educate you that your actions will provoke an alien war. You may consider Dr. Doom and yourself as monsters but not everything will fear you.”
INT: BATCAVE
A close up of the massive viewing screen shows a world map with a signal flashing just north of Frankfurt, Germany.
Wayne manipulates the controls for the screen to trace a flight pattern from Bosnia to Frankfurt. The flight path indicates stopping in Lyon, France before landing in Frankfurt.
Cage: Good thing you put a beacon on that helo. They’ve been busy.”
Wayne leans back in his chair studying the screen
Wayne: “They only stopped off in Lyon, France for half an hour. Apparently they didn’t find what they were looking for?”
Castle: “Could have been a quick drop or pick up. Those Blackhawks can be in and out before anybody knows they were there.”
Wayne manipulates the controls bringing up a satellite image showing that location to be an airport.
Wayne: “Looks like a private runway airport, nothing special.”
Castle: “What about Frankfurt?”
Wayne manipulates the controls rerouting the satellite image
Wayne: “It’s a former military communications base. Probable one of Krieger’s”
Drew: “So did they change planes or is it a diversion?”
Cage: “Maybe they found the beacon and wanted to throw us off?”
Wayne, considering all possibilities, turns toward LeBeau sitting at a table shuffling a deck of cards.
Wayne: “Anything in that Bosnia meeting mentioned about Lyon or Frankfurt?”
LeBeau: “Not that I heard. The only thing they talked about was getting to K2 for some energy source they discovered. On top of that they’re tracking two objects headed toward us. Cade and Talia made it sound like the two were connected.”
Drew: “Alien?”
LeBeau: “Sure sounded like it.”
The five all exchange looks to each other not expecting the possibility of extraterrestrial involvement.
Cage: “We need to get our hands on that briefcase and according to this it’s in Frankfurt or on a plane we can’t track.”
Castle: “I say we target the one we can track.”
Drew: “Germany it is.”
Wayne: “Everyone get prepped. We leave in an hour.”
EXT: FRANKFURT, GERMANY MILITARY COMMAND BASE-NIGHT
In an isolated location deep in a wooded forest sits a two story military surveillance base. At each corner of the base perimeter sit four guard towers equipped with surveillance lights panning the area. Encircling the guard towers is a thirty foot high chain link fence with a single gate entrance. Within the fence sits the Blackhawk along with a row of military jeeps and several tanks.
CUT TO:
Bat Tumbler, in stealth mode, racing down a wooded trail toward the Military Base.
INT: TUMBLER
Castle driving with Drew in the passenger seat. Drew wearing her Spiderwoman suit with no cowl and Castle sporting a black trench coat with a white skull underneath.
Castle manipulates the controls bringing up a GPS schematic of the area.
Castle: “ETA 2 minutes. I hope Gambit and Cage are in position.”
Drew: “If they’re not it won’t be because we got there too fast.”
Castle gives an annoyed glance
INT: MILITARY BASE TOP FLOOR
Bane stands in silence peering out the large open window taking in the quiet night. A Shadow enters.
Shadow: “All checkpoints report in with no activity.”
Bane keeping his back to the Shadow: “Have them report again in an hour.”
The Shadow seeming to believe the order as pointless
Shadow: “Do you really believe they will come for the case?”
Bane turns giving the Shadow a ominous glare. After several moments the Shadow realizes it is best not to cross the enormous man.
Shadow: “Yes sir”
The Shadow quickly exits and Bane returns to his peaceful mediation.
EXT: WOODED AREA OUTSIDE GUARD FENCE
The large surveillance light slowly sweeps across the wooded area. After passing, Cage peaks around a large tree making his way closer toward the fence. From the opposite side of the base Gambit repeats the same action.
CUT TO: The Bat Tumbler pulls off the trail coming to a stop.
INT: TUMBLER
Castle looks over at Drew
Castle: “Ready?”
Drew puts on her red and yellow cowl
Drew: “Don’t’ miss me too much.”
Castle manipulates the controls. The Tumblers roof retracts. Drew fires webbing in the nearest tree catapulting from the seat.
Castle closes the hatch reaching for his com link
Castle: “Spiders in the tree.”
CUT TO:
Drew web slings from tree to tree toward the first guard tower. Posted at the top, shielded by the thick brush, Drew reaches for her com.
Drew: “I’m in position.”
LeBeau: “Go for it.”
As the surveillance light makes a final pass. Drew fires webbing to the tower launching herself atop the roof in a crouched position. Drew crawls to the underside of the roof where a Hydra Agent has his back turned. Without making a sound she drops to the floor. Sneaking up behind she lands a hard kick to the middle of his spine stunning him and snaps his neck before a sound can be made. The agent falls limp. Drew looks over the edge to see Gambit looking up at her. She picks up the limp agent and tosses him down to Gambit who catches the agent carrying him off in the woods so it will not to be spotted.
CUT TO:
On the opposite side of the base, Castle is posted near the top of a tree. Waiting for the surveillance light to pass, Castle levels a stealth bow at the Hydra Agent posted at the guard tower.
With perfect precision he fires the arrow piercing the agent’s helmet. The lifeless agent falls from the tower into Luke Cage’s arms. Like Gambit, Cage carries the body out of sight into the woods.
Simultaneously Castle and Drew repeat the same action for tower three and four.
Castle speaking into com link: “East towers clear.”
Drew: “West towers clear. Proceed to breach.”
CUT TO:
Gambit, Cage and Castle reach the guard fence. Gambit pulls an ace of spades card from his trench coat. The card comes to life with red energy waves flowing upon it. Gambit then runs the card in a square pattern along the fence creating an entrance. The trio enters as Drew lowers herself to their position from the guard tower. The four heroes progress to a parked tank for cover.
Cage takes notice to a symbol on the tank he’s never seen before.
Cage: “Krieger and Ms. Al Ghul aren’t fooling around. Any of you ever ran across this symbol before.”
Drew: “We don’t have time to look at tank art.”
Castle gazing upon the base through infrared binoculars
Castle: “This place is crawling. I’m counting atleast a dozen Shadows on the bottom balcony and dozen Hydra’s on the top balcony. If we don’t keep quite we’re toast.”
Drew: “Bruce you getting this?”
INT: BATWING HIGH SKY ABOVE BASE
Wayne: “I am. If they catch on I’m gonna level this place briefcase or not. I’m not interested in being held prisoner by these savages.”
BACK TO BASE YARD:
Gambit: “Heard that.”
INT: BATWING
Wayne manipulates the controls pulling up a schematic of the military base. A square energy signature flashes on screen.
Wayne: “The briefcase is at the north end of the top floor. I’m not sure what it’s protected by but expect the worse.”
BACK TO BASE YARD:
Drew: “Enough with the talk. I want that case.”
Drew fires webbing at the corner of the building. Without missing a beat she explodes from the ground and latches onto the building crawling toward the top floor.
Cage: “The girl is ambitious you gotta give her that.”
The sand beneath their feet begins to slowly shift. All of a sudden a mound of sand explodes from the ground, forming a fist, and sends Cage flying through the air crashing to the ground.
Castle and Gambit quickly fire shots at the sand that immediately transforms into a wave knocking them on their backs.
This skirmish draws the attention of the Shadows and Hydra agents on guard. Cage, woozy, stagers back to his feet seeing the large sand fist aimed for Castle and Gambit. Cage removes a hand gun from its holster firing several laser blasts. The blast sites form glass causing the fist to disseminate to the shape of a man FLINT MARKO “SANDMAN”. Castle lands a solid punch to Marko’s face followed by Gambit’s staff to his stomach and another Castle upper cut putting the Sandman on his back.
Before finishing off Marko a wave of shots come from the base balcony and roof causing the three men to take cover behind the nearest military jeep.
Castle: “Bruce they’re on to us! There’s a row of tanks on the west side of the base. Drop the hammer on them before they start blowing us full of holes.”
INT: BATWING
Wayne: “Copy that.”
Wayne manipulates the controls and the Batwing explodes from the atmosphere toward the base. On radar the row of tanks become highlighted. Bruce fires a missile from the Batwing toward the tanks. Just before the missile makes hits an arm quickly emerges from the tank catching it in mid air. The tank continues transforming into a massive robot Decepticon BRAWL.
All four heroes jaw’s drop not believing what they are witnessing.
Cage: “What is that?”
Brawl throws the missile toward the Batwing. Batman takes evasive maneuvers but the missile explodes too close destroying the left wing. The Batwing is in a free fall causing Batman to eject. Opening his cape Batman guides himself to the rooftop drop kicking a Shadow to break his fall. Just outside the fence the Batwing crashes to the ground igniting into flames.
Batman surrounded by six shadows, throws down a smoke bomb and unleashed furry on his enemy. Through a cloud of smoke he smashes his fist into Shadow 1’s face followed by an elbow to the back of Shadow 2’s head. With 4 left Batman round house kicks Shadow 3 and puts his knee in Shadow 4’s stomach followed by slamming his fist to the neck. Shadow 5 charges Batman with his sword aimlessly swinging. Batman catches the blade with his sharp wrist bracers putting Shadow 5 in a headlock and kicks Shadow 6 knocking him back. Finally Batman picks Shadow 5 over his head whaling him at Shadow 6 finishing them off.
CUT TO:
Bane looking outside the window marveling at Brawl unleashing firepower on Cage, Castle, and Gambit.
CUT TO:
Cage, Castle, and Gambit sprint across the exploding yard toward an abandoned trench area. Just before arriving a wall of sand explodes in their path knocking them to the ground. The wall turns to a wave slinging the men helplessly as they cannot gain footing.
Gambit: “I’ve had enough of this.”
Gambit’s hands obtain a red glow and fires stunning the Sandman bringing him back to human form. Cage lands 3 consecutive earth shattering punches to Marko’s face. Brawl makes his way closer toward the men firing several missiles causing debris to fly everywhere. Brawl reloads, Gambit and Castle dive for the trench while Cage lands the final blow to Marko. Cage too dives into the trench as Brawl fires a laser blasts hitting Marko in the crossfire. Marko’s body of sand transforms into glass shattering to the ground.
Castle cocks his grenade launcher: “It’s our turn.”
Castle fires shot after shot at Brawl landing damaging blows. Brawl stumbles back. From behind Brawl the Blackhawk helicopter transforms in Decepticon Vortex.
A cold chill runs down Castle, Cage, and Gambit’s spine.
Gambit: “This can’t be happening.”
INT: MILITARY BAST TOP FLOOR
Bane now accompanied by a half dozen Shadows and Hydra agents to guard the case.
Spiderwoman crawls on the ceiling above the enemy. She slowly rides down her webbing. Only several feet above the men she fires webbing blinding two of the Hydra Agents and drops landing on a Shadow. Immediately she flips over the closest Hydra roundhouse kicking him to the floor. A Shadow approaches but she counters with a kick to the face followed by a sweeping kick to his legs. One of the webbed Hydra’s opens fire on Drew and she webs herself around the room dodging injury. As she fires another web a ninja star severs her grip and she falls to the floor immediately receiving a punch to the face followed by a blow to the stomach.
Bane walks over to the injured vixen: “Such a shame beauty does not live forever.”
Before Bane can make another move Batman explodes in from the front window. The startled group is no match for the Dark Knight’s furry as he quickly dismantles the Hydra Agents and Shadows. Batman gets to the injured Spiderwoman.
Wayne: “Get out of here this is my fight.”
Drew holding her side in pain: “All yours.”
Batman turns his attention toward Bane holding the briefcase.
Bane: “Batman”
Batman: “Bane, Just hand over the case and we both walk away.”
Bane tosses the case to the other side of the room: “I’ll take my chances.”
Bane charges full steam ahead at Batman who does the same. The two legends collide with Bane picking Batman up and slamming him to the floor. Batman quickly rebounds to his feet landing a combo of punches to Bane’s face and body. Bane takes a violet swing at Batman’s head but is able to duck. Batman lands a kick to Bane’s knee causing it to buckle. With Bane distracted, Batman wails on Bane’s face causing blood to trickle down under his mask. Bane only smiles as he catches Batman’s arm and throws him across the room.
CUT TO: TRENCH
Both Vortex and Brawl firing shot after shot pending Cage, Castle, and Gambit in the trench.
Gambit: “We need a new plan. This isn’t working.”
Castle looking around for answers spots an open area in the base’s bottom floor.
Castle: “Head for that entrance.”
Cage: “We’re gonna run in there?! We won’t last no time!”
Gambit: “We’ll last a heck of a lot longer than here. Plus those robots want shoot the base.”
Castle: “Exactly”
The three get in position to make a break for it
Cage: “This is a terrible idea.”
All three sprint toward base dipping and dodging explosions from the Decepticon pair.
CUT TO:
Batman barely standing holds himself against the wall facing the giant Bane.
Batman: “You were off the grid Bane, why comeback?”
Bane: “You of all people Bruce should understand our demons will never go away. This is who we are.”
Batman: “Then so be it.”
Batman levels grapple gun at Bane firing it. Bane turns avoiding its impact, grabbing the cable, pulling Batman to him, and aiming to land a bone crushing punch. At the last minute Batman ducks stabbing Bane in the back with a glass shard. Batman then lands a powerful blow to Bane’s cowl cracking it. Just as Batman goes for the knockout punch the room explodes from a Decepticon stray blast. Batman disoriented looks to find the case but see’s it has been destroyed. He then finds Bane on the ground who is beginning to reorient himself pushing debris off his body.
Through a static filled transmission Wayne hears Drew’s voice
Drew: “Bruce…Bruce we’re outside the guard fence make a break for it now!”
Batman gets to his feet firing his grapple gun escaping the situation.
EXT: AIRPLANE FLYING THROUGH SKY
INT: AIRPLANE
The five heroes rest upon the first class private plane physically exhausted from their battle. Wayne leaned back in his chair trying to understand their situation. After a moment Wayne has an idea. He gets up from his seat making his way to a private area of the plane. Speaking into his phone “Tony Stark” After several moments Stark appears on the phone’s screen.
Stark: “Bruce you haven’t forgotten about me.”
Wayne cutting to the chase: “What did you know about Cade?”
Stark: “So now you have time to talk.”
Wayne annoyed with Stark’s sarcasm gives him a scowl look.
Stark: “Cade is a pawn of Osborne’s who came to me with the same mystery deal he presented to you. Don’t ask me how but I’m aware you ran into their secret robot mercenaries.”
Wayne: “Did Osborne create them?”
Stark: “I don’t know who created them but Norman Osborne had no part. They’re alien Bruce. Inside that briefcase held the coordinates of two entities headed toward earth.”
Wayne: “Searching for what?”
Stark: “Their energy source. Several weeks ago strange energy readings began seeping out of K2. Osborne was the first to jump on it and now wants to extract it from the mountain. In the meantime these killing robots have been showing up all over the globe looking for this energy source.”
Wayne: “How do we stop them?”
Stark smirks: “Oh so now the Caped Crusader needs combat advice from a machine?”
Wayne: Tony I’m not going to lead my guys into a fight we can’t win. I need to even the playing field.”
Stark: “You know me; my philosophy has always been fight machine with machine. Redirect your flying yacht to Malibu and I’ll show you what I’m talking about.”
