In an amazing set of news, Guillermo del Toro (whose brilliant mind and directing brought to life Hellboy, Blade, and Pan's Labyrinth) is moving faster with the DC film universe that the execs trying to get Justice League off the ground. He's confirmed he will direct an adaption of sorts on "Justice League Dark" which focuses on the occult and magical characters of the comic universe.
His film would explore the long awaited adaptions of amazing mystical heroes that deserve screen time. Bless this man for moving ahead with over 10+ characters most have never heard of.
Until official casting, here's my picks. Enjoy!
Nikolaj Coster-Waldau as the chain-smoking Constantine (con-stanh-tyeen).
The immortal knight of Camelot, cursed and bonded with with the demon Etrigan (think Hulk that swings a sword and breaths fire). Damien Lewis of Homeland can easily fill the shoes of the troubled and damned individual...plus he has the red hair like the character!
The voice of Goliath, Keith David, will bring to life Swamp Thing.
The stunning Olivia Wilde as the magician turned crimefighter Zatanna.
Scottish actor James Cosmo, (of recent fame on Game of Thrones but forever remembered by me in 10th Kingdom and Braveheart) has the bravado to play the skilled sorcerer and father of Zatanna. In a similar route on Young Justice, Zatara will be forced to sacrifice his mortal life to stop a powerful threat. He have to don the Helmet of Fate and forever become the vessel of...
Doctor Fate!
The strange wandering mystic that battles occult forces, Phantom Stranger, as played by Person of Interest star Jim Caviezel.
Bostan Brand was murdered, only to come back as a body-possessing ghost Deadman. The master of CGI himself, Andy Serkis, will do bodywork as well as voice this haunted hero.
Madame Xanadu, a tarot-card reader, discovers true magic and becomes force to be reckoned with. A powerful female actor...only name that comes to mind is the beautiful Eva Green.
Jason Isaacs, who should still be starring on the amazing TV Show "Awake", as the spirit of vengance himself...The Specre.
What force would bring these magical indivduals together you ask?
The evil sorcerer, Felix Faust, as planned by british actor Naveen Andrews.
But he's not alone.
He's only an acolyte of the real threat. Gabriel Byrne, whose not stranger to playing lords of darkness. Gabriel would be playing...with a blend of CGI...
Trigon!
The threat of such a looming and powerful entity such as he would allow for a post-credits reveal of his daughter, the one and only, Raven!
Played by Archie Panjabi.
