Fan Cast/Idea: LOGAN'S RUN The Video Game

"Sandman, Sandman, Leave my door. Don't come back here anymore. Now I lay me down to pray. Sandman, Sandman, stay away." Is it bad that I remember that song?

I had always heard about Logan's Run, but I never really had any interest beyond what I heard. Recently I purchased the Logan's Run audibook and to my surprise...it was really good.

I watched the movie afterwards, and even though I had some problems with it, I'm not going to deny that it was indeed a good movie.

Now if you've never heard of Logan's Run and have absolutely no dea of what it's about. I'll give you a description based off the book .

In the 23rd century, everyone can enjoy life's pleasures. You wanna drink? Drink. Have Sex? Go ahead. Drugs? Why not? Everything that was limited by how young a person is, can be enjoyed by everyone. The catch? You have to die at the age of 21.

As a matter of fact, even if you don't do those things, you still have to die at 21.

When you're born your hand gets implanted with a yellow flower. After 7 years, the flower will change from yellow to blue. Then after you turn 14, your flower changes blue to red.

But on your last day as a 20 year old, your flower will blink red and black. And once you turn 21, your flower will turn completely black.

When you turn 21, you have to report to a "Sleepshop". If you run, an Operative known as a Sandman will find you, capture you, and then kill you.

Logan-3 is one of these operatives. He is on his last day, but before he dies, he attempts to go undercover as a runner, to find a place called "Sanctuary" where Runners go and hide from the society that has condemned them.

But after meeting Jessica-6, Logan begins to doubt the system he swore to protect.

And that's the basic gist of the story.

The movie is a bit different. The movie took a lot of the book's basic concepts, but I wouldn't call it a faithful adaption by any means.

For me personally, if I was going to make a video game based off Logan's Run, It would be closer to the book than to the movie.

Developer: TellTale Games
Notable Works: Back to The FutureThe Walking DeadThe Wolf Among Us

If you've played a game by Telltale, then you know what type of game you're going to get. It's not going to be a First or Third person shooter. And if you've read the book, you'd know that you wouldn't get a game like that.

What Telltale focuses on is the story and dialogue, and they do both masterfully.  If a Logan's Run game was ever going to be made right, it would have to be by Telltale.

Now here is the voicecast...

Troy Baker as the voice of Logan-3

When I listen to Logan's dialogue in the Audiobook, I always picture him as sort of a Rogue-type character. At the beginning of the book,  Logan is sort of Anti-Hero, but as time progresses he becomes more of a good guy.

Troy Baker is one of the best voice actors today. If they were to use the movie's interptretation of Logan instead of the book's, I would still pick Troy Baker as the voice of Logan.

Melissa Hutchison as the voice of Jessica-6

In the world of Logan's Run, most people believe that "Runners" are cowards and that they deserve what they get. Most people actually believe in the world's BS system.

Jessica is one of the few who believe that the system is wrong, and that everyone has been robbed of living their full life.

Jessica is without a doubt the most relatable character in the book and movie, because she wants pretty much what everyone wants: To live.

Adam Harrington as the voice of Francis-7

Laura Bailey as the voice of Mary Mary-2

Mary Mary is a small character, but I thought she was worth the cast at least.

If you've played the Wolf Among Us Episode 3, then you know that is was Laura Bailey as Rachel that inspired this pick.

Troy Baker as the voice of Box

I know what you're saying "Troy Baker? Again?". But honestly a voice actor can voice two different roles. The voice of Bigby is also the voice of the Woodsman (talking about The Wolf Among Us...seriously go play it).

Box is crazy. That would be the simple description. But in the book Box is supposed to look Human and part machine.

So why does Box look like a complete machine in the picture above? Your guess is as good as mine. That decision to make Box look like a complete robot is one of the few things that bothered me while watching the Logan's Run movie.

So what do you guys think? Like it, love it, hate it, or just meh? Comment below in the usual spot.
