FAN FIC/CASTING Pointers and Concerns

Just a few concerns and hopeful considerative ploys ...

It is true that as a writer, i, along with b-knight, hawk, and the other fickers here, all talented i must add, would like to see our work traversed on a grand scale...and yes id sell my soul to have my works made into films...but i take what little i can get...im a novelist, short story writer...and a comic book writer...hence my stories are long and contain many pics...and after meeting marvel x-editor nick lowe, me and my team, are putting together works to try to break into comics...full time...hence why im a huge mark millar fan...his works, comics get offered as movies...and id jump to get those same opportunities...i envy him indeed...

that said, on cbm, we need to be considerate...the fan fic section is just getting dumped with articles, today i posted my story at 6am and it got bogged..mostly by comics56 whom i had to get into a huge tiff with, as honestly, 3 stories posted back to back is unfair...there are so many fancasts compared to stories that me and hawk etc really find it hard to get our works read...so we have to pimp and ad on other articles...and we encourage the same on ours im sure...it is all about exposure...i feel that 2 days should be dedicated for just stories, and the other 5 days for casts...but that requires a lot of communication and consideration...that sadly isnt offered and seen much by the many users aboard....i didnt mean disrespect to comics56 but he didnt think it through...i personally out of courtesy never post my story once a fellow writer posts his, as that most likely, will split or slow down our reading market...so i wait a week till after...sadly that's my polite and humble offering...and i cant say im shocked that that isnt reciprocated to me...that is how it crumbles...so that's that...

today i dealt with johan and some other users whining about us fickers placing our ads, well no disrespect meant, but if the article owners remove the ads, then fine, or cbm bans it, then fine, but if u guys johan and etc cannot ignore a 3 inch area on your screen that is our post...i think you need more energy in your system or check for ADD...cuz you cannot tell us what to post...as long as we do not harm, offend or degrade the main article...then it is all fine...so if u cant look away and ignore an ad, then that is your problem...again i mean no disrespect and i humbly accept your opinion...

now, folks, let us try to be more considerate...and let's keep articles of high quality...hard work and integrity...and as a favor, have mercy and allow the writers' some breathing room plz...we already contend with a bazillion fan fics per day :(...this helps to reduce ads and spamming and would lead to us not making the lives of johan etc inconvenient as our ads cause bodily harm it seems...and the last thing we want is for people to ignore our ad/comment bcuz by looking away, they may fall ill apparently...and we do want them to conserve their energy in case another comment comes up to ignore...god forbid we harm their eyes....5 hour energy pill anyone??? :)

See, this is why I'm glad were getting our own Fan Fic Site and can't figure out why so many are worried about it. You would have your own fan ficker tab. lol. They would have their own Fan cast tab. Fan art tab. etc. etc. etc. How is that not awesome?

ANIL @ WTF dude, Comics56 got dealt with straight away???

Its just pot luck if you post on a good day or a bad day!

JOS is right, a fan cast tab of your own will sort it all out! : P

I already said i wouldn't post the days you writers want in a week, i'm sure most of the regs would agree, doubt newbies will or even know about it though.

I totally agree dude and thanks for the shout out. Its always good to hear someone likes your work.

We're getting our own fanfic site? I still don't think that'll help much. Thats what Earth's Mightiest was supposed to do but no one goes there. The only way to fix it is to add a tab for fanfics, but that'll never happen.

Good luck with becoming a writer. I also want to be, but i need to find someone who can draw cause I can't for shit. I have a lot of ideas but don't know how to start it off.

Well put @Anil Rickly
I agree with most of what your talking about, and good luck on your journey to become a comic book writer.
I for one always enjoyed your work, but the one big problem with fanfic is a CBMers desire to be recognized or have many comments in there fancasts, and that has become accepted.

I,ve also noticed another alarming trend begin and it,s a very similar problem and it,s in the review section.
When there use to be only a handful of reviews a week no we see 20 clash of the titans 20 kick ass's 20 nightmare on elm streets, of course I,m exaggerating a little but why the sudden explosion of reviews.
Its simple, recognition some have lost alot in fanfic so they move to where the general public have turned to escape what fanfic has become.

What people should recognize that to get the recognition that is craved is first they need to become a trusted and respected CBMer, a few examples of said trusted and respected users JosLezio85, MultiPurposePoni, RorMachine, Shaman, Jman and Johnny Love, TheMyth, LEEE777 and of course yourself Anil it goes on and on I apologize if I missed any of the old boys in advance.

Now I,m sure we can all agree we don,t all agree with what users I just mentioned all the time, I know I don,t but these guys carry themselves with respect and dignity and have become the unseen faces of CBM.

Now the one thing I don,t agree with what you have said Anil and your not the only one is the pimping of articles. Fanfic has become broken to the point of people just don,t want to go there period
I am guilty of this myself, but I still on occasion try to stop by and see some of the more talented people,s work here such as yourself.

In short it should be every users choice to come back to fanfic if they choose we all know it,s here, it use to be the most popular tab here at CBM. We don,t need to be reminded it's here, we need to be informed it has returned to its former glory, which I know we can agree it is far from that.

It would be a sad day at CBM if users bailed on the site all together sad day indeed, but I fear if things don,t change all together and I mean every day to day user such as yourself, myself and everyone in between thats what will happen.

Small things can make a huge difference ie:

I've seen many times bad casting, no pictures, no reasons, no info at all and the average poster will say post pictures to make it better when in fact thats not going to make it better. You can put sugar on shit and eat it but it will still taste like shit.

We should be telling these guys to make good article based casts if thats your taste, fancasts I mean.
Pictures are such a small part to making something good, pictures have nothing to do with your work unless your a guy like LEEE777 who can do wonders with photoshop. Yet all we here from our own is add pictures.

The benchmark needs to be set higher, much higher then it is. Adding pictures Bah Hum Bug. SupermanFan01 started doing casts justs actors and parts no pictures, now he adds pictures are they getting much better?
No they are not and thats not his fault its ours for not telling him to do more then just pictures.
Sorry Supes but your just an easy example to point out.

I,ve not had the time to check out your Hulk arc yet Anil but I promiss I will get to it and leave you some feedback.

You should have left this in the editorial tab.
I think this would have got more time at the top where it should be.
