Reading alot of comments on the Superman reboot show a clear divide amongst fans who either don't want to see the costume changed as it has been THE superhero costume of 70+ years and those who want to do away with underwear on the outside and bring the last son into the 21st century. Don't get me wrong Superman hasn't had enough costume changes to even gage whether no underwear will work and it wont stop me watching The Man of Steel if they remain. I find myself in the latter camp who feel an updated costume is overdue.Other Superheros such as wolverine and Batman ( Bruce Wayne) have embraced the correct way to wear their underpants in recent years off the top of my head only Magneto and Superman haven't. Here are a couple drawings of what i feel would be appropriate costumes for Henry Cavill to wear in the new film as you can see i haven't completely neglected the aforementioned area of the costume but attempted to find a compromise.
