My fan made poster for Rorschach of Watchmen. I'm still new to making these pictures and welcome any tips in the comment section.

Just so you guys know what I did exactly. I made the cut out of Rorscach. Then I put a picture of an alley behind him and added the Watchmen logo and quote Who watches the Watchmen". The last thing I did was add the smiley face badge on Rorschach.

I'm still not satisfied though. I see alot of great fan made posters on here so I decided to post this up and see if anyone can give me any pointers to improve.

Well, I think you should work on cutting the character, and Roscharch's phot tone doesn't matches with the alley, you should change that....

@axelbratoski- Thanks, I knew something looked off but couldn't figure out what. You're spot on, I need to make sure the tones of the photos are the same.

what software are you using? If it's Photoshop, try using the blur tool on the edges of Rorschach and the badge, so it blends more. Then try using the burn tool on Rorschach (mainly his left side) to create shadows.
And I'd move the Watchmen logo slightly too, the border is cutting it off a bit. You could also try getting rid of the black box behind the text so the letters are sort of hovering in front of the bricks.

And finally (if you can be bothered after all the other suggestions) try making the sky in the background darker so it's night time, it'd really help set a more Watchmen-like atmosphere.

Hope I helped, and it's a good try! Keep up the good work

@ACira- I was actually using Photobucket but I have a Photoshop account and can easily transfer it just have a couple questions:

1) What is the blur tool od Photoshop? I cant find it.
2)How do I change the color of the sky? Would paint work?

@booyah the blur tool lowers the focus of whatever you use it on. You could use the smudge tool in small movements, but it'll be much harder and take a lot longer.
Here's some info on the blur tool: http://graphicssoft.about.com/od/photoshop/l/bllps508b.htm

And paint will work, but you should lower the opacity of the brush (so the paint is almost see-through) then use the burn tool to darken it, other wise you'll end up with a block of colour.

@BooYah- great idea for a poster man, my advice is edit Rorschach's coloring so that it will blend perfect on the background or like what ACira said use blur tool. Hope this helps. BTW the blur tool's icon looks like a teardrop, I think it's located on the bottom left.

It looks like an old 1940's foriegn film poster you would see on the side of the Berlin Wall. Very film noir type stuff. Cool.
