Who Will be THE FLASH??

With the announcement of The Justice League movie currently being under construction, we fans now have the fun of guessing and promoting whom we want to be cast in the various roles. I want to engage the discussion on who will become our fastest man alive.

Let’s start by looking at the measurables of The Flash. I’m going to use Wally West as our hero. Sources list him as 6’0”ft, 190lbs, Green eyes, Red hair, and American. Ideally he would probably look like a an Olympic Sprinter, or like an NFL Wide Receiver (I think Indianapolis Colts WR Austin Collie who is 6ft 200lb is a decent model of sorts)

Moving on to the intangibles, we know he is cocky, wisecracking, maybe even a little airheaded, but still very intelligent, being a college graduate and he is handy as a mechanic. He is also originally from Nebraska, so he has to have a Midwest, salt of the earth, mid American feel to him. Those roots also reflect in his “real” life as he’s a guy that does end up getting married and pursuing his own American Dream with the white picket fence.

Now, let’s think about what we want out of dynamics and chemistry with the cast. The Flash is rarely the guy that gives orders, that typically falls on Superman and Batman, and even Wonder Woman. So I think it would make a lot of sense to have The Flash be younger than most of the JLA. This creates a character that has learning curve, perhaps a little bit of an authority issue, and a separate dynamic from his older peers.

Now what don’t we want then? We don’t want an actor that is an enormous personality that he would almost be distracting. It’ll make it too difficult for us to see the character.

So who do we go with? I say, let’s get a relative unknown. No Nathan Fillions, or Ryan Reynolds, let’s get someone young and raw, someone that can carry a franchise for over a decade.

Allow me to present to you…..

Dustin Fitzsimons

You may recognize him from last year’s Golden Globe Winner and Oscar nomine The Social Network, where he played the Phoenix Club President. Check out his IMDB ( http://www.imdb.com/name/nm2951481/ ) for his other projects and his story and you’ll find that he is an up and coming actor that is fully capable of handling a role like this.

I’ve seen him act in person and I can tell you with absolute honesty that he possesses all the traits you would want out of The Flash. He’s clever, real, has an excellent stage presence, and can immerse himself into a character. He also has recently put on about 20lbs of muscle for an upcoming role, so you know he’d be dedicated to making sure he could physically become Wally West.

There he is folks. It’s far enough in advance that the fans can speak and make an influence on this casting choice. Let’s rally for DUSTIN FITZSIMONS!

@MrMurdockk I like the usage of Mark Harmon, that'd be nice, but even though he could do the role, I'm not a fan of using Matt Damon here.

@Nephillim Fitz Simons

@Roscoe, has that been announced? I was thinking that since there was going to be an individual movie,too, we might get both characters.
