My DCCU started with Superman '05 (rather than Batman Begins) Following Big Red was Batman '06, Green Lantern '07 and now WW '08.

This Green Lantern link will carry you to Batman and Superman, respectively

The story of Wonder Woman is very interesting, if the proper respect is paid.

I see her story develop in 'chapters'

WONDER WOMAN: CHAPTER 1

It actually starts out with Hercules. Zeus, the proud father of the demigod hero, wanted to grant Hercules immortality, a gift, normally possessed only by true deities.

Hera forbade her husband to give him the gift unless he proved himself. If Hercules were able to accomplish 12 labors, given to him by Hera, then she would agree to his immortality and godly-hood

Ares was extremely vocal of his disapproval and chose to prevent Hercules in succeeding.

To the point, the 9th labor was for Hercules to steal the girdle of Hippolyta, queen of the Amazons.

The Amazons were a tribe of women whose male members were all killed off by the Danaids, a group of 49 females who, after killing their would-be husbands, as ordered by their father, Danaus, grew to crave misandry and murder. The Danaids were unsuccessful in convincing the women to join them.

The Danaids would migrate to Egypt and cause great havoc there. They worshiped Egyptian gods and took to the Egyptian formalities such as feline worship, namely the cheetah.

The Amazons moved on and became self-reliant and had no need for men, faithful to only the Greek Goddesses. They grew to be very militant and were feared and treated as equal to male armies, rivaling Sparta.

Ares, ever the thorn in his 1/2-brother's side, warned the Amazons.

The queen's general, her sister Antiope, led the women into battle against Hercules and his allies.

Hercules, upset, as he was going to bargain for the girdle, reacted as a warrior would, and battled the fierce women warriors, resulting in Antiope's death and the Amazons defeat. Hercules left with the girdle.

Ares, angry over Hercules' victory, raped the queen as punishment.

Vengeful, the queen sends a small band of soldiers to take away from Hercules what he loves most, his children. They kill his sons.

In order to make amends for what she indirectly caused, sending Hercules there and taking responsibility for her vengeful son, Ares, Hera moves the Amazons to a secluded Island hidden from all man, human and god alike.

In the coming months, Hippolyta hides her pregnancy, a result of the rape from Ares, to her subjects, for fear that they may abolish her child, be it a female, or kill the child if it were a male, given the child is a seed of their greatest enemy, the manipulative god of war and chaos, Ares.

Meanwhile, Hercules has completed his labors and is granted immortality. However, for 2 reasons, life without his children is not worth living and painfully apologetic for the horror he brought to the Amazons, he chooses to give his gift of immortality, along with the stolen girdle, to the Amazons.

As long as the Amazons stay on the island of Themyscira, they are immortal.

Hippolyta is able to convince her subjects that her child, Diana, was a gift, made of clay, from select goddesses. Her expected Demi-goddess powers were explained as gifts so that she may protect the clan forever.

Each Amazon must where bracelet/shackles that represent the shackles they would encounter if they ever entered man's world.

Not subject to the tech advances of the world as time moves forward, the Amazons stay status quo.

The plane of a para trooper, Steve Trevor, is shot down. The only survivor, Trevor lands in, what seems like, heaven.

It's only when he is violently taken prisoner and forced into slavery, victimized and mocked as a freak does he realize this reality is far from those pubescent dreams for which he use to wish.

He befriends Princess Diana and details the stories history of the evolution of war and where mankind has taken itself in that respect.

He respects the warrior mentality of the islanders but wonders why they haven't tried to touch man's world and help develop world wide peace. He states that, if anyone can do it, they can.

Diana convinces, after great debate, her mother, that Trevor (for whom she has a slight crush; an emotion new to her) should be free to return home, for they are better, and lass hateful than man.

She also is able to convince Hippolyta that an amazon should act as a liaison to man's world, and attempt to purify it so that the world knows the same harmony and peace with which the Amazons are blessed.

Her offer to be the ambassador is denied.

A contest is held. She is denied entry and ordered to stay as Themyscira's protector. Her powers would give her an unfair advantage, any way.

She wins, is banned for going against the queen, and receives a gift from the goddess, Athena, in secret. The lasso of truth so that the fate of the Amazons may not befall her and no man, entangled in the golden lasso, can lie.

Hera tells the others, including Diana, she is the child of Ares from the rape. She is effectively homeless.

The movie fades out as Trevor and Diana leave the island forever.

****You may notice that my WW movie does not star WW. It's hard to explain but I think that no one has done her justice and we are all so afraid that she won't be excepted. That's a load of bull, but just in case, this will ease fans into her Chapter 2 and she will rock from then on.

It's almost a Batman Begins-esque movie.

THE CAST

Hercules
Bio
A legendary hero obsessed with earning immortality and living alongside the other gods of Mt Olympus. Although his obsession led to a domino effect of terrible things for the Amazons, ever the hero, he does what he can to remedy his mistakes.

Played by
Manu Bennett
Age
39
Known
30 Days of Night
Bio
I'm not going to lie to you; I searched fancasts for your picks for The Punisher. Why I felt an actor that was good in that role would fit as DC's Hercules I have no idea. He's a great choice how ever I came to it.

As it is, to my surprise, he has already done the sword and sandals theme in 2010 (this is '08), appearing in Spartacus.

Queen Hippolyta

Played by
Rachel Weisz
Age
37
Known
The Constant Gardner
Bio
An award winning actress with stunning good looks. She fits the regal persona of the immortal queen. She was young but still old enough having been given immortality after some time.

Ares

Played by
Javier Bardem
Age
39
Known
No Country for Old Men
Bio
I've settled on this pick forever ago and never waive red on that. What's funny is that, after choosing him, I realized that I already had him a while ago. Oh well, he's obviously the best choice IMO. Also, it helps that he resembles Bennett (his 1/2 brother).

Hera
The Queen of the Greek gods is portrayed as majestic and solemn

Played by
Marina Sirtis
Known
Star Trek
Age
52
Bio
I will say I've never seen Trek but am very familiar with her voice work on Gargoyles. That voice and that commanding presence was more than enough reason to cast her as Hera. If Zeus is generally very old and grey why would Hera be a young woman. Early 50's is good. It's aged but still attractive.

Wonder Woman
Bio
I want her to be very mature and a natural leader, able to defy her mother when the reason is just. In USA she would be wide eyed and innocently amazed by the tech we take for granted. Her comfort comes under duress and battle. She will never be a damsel.

As the other Amazons were regular wen granted immortality, they lack the legendary size that went along with their, now absent, strength. Diana, however, the child of Ares, has the size.

Her costume has to be very gladiator-like. I WANT SANDALS! She should keep the golden belt as an homage to the girdle, as well as the bracelets, serving as reminder, the headband (a bit thick) and the gladiator skirt. Keeping the red, white and blue, sewn by an Amazon, for her to wear, to appear non-combative towards the US, home of Trevor. Strapless (Realistically, Amazons were topless). This is similar, not perfect.

Played by
Deanna Russo
Known
Knight Rider
Age 28
Height
5'8"
Bio
Russo is not nearly the olive skinned contessa I was searching for, but she is by far the most suitable. Her stunning looks, her acceptable stature an her crazy, intense training in Knight Rider made her the best choice, hands down. My ideal WW had to be between 25-30.

Steve Trevor
Bio
Ya know how most women play that role of girlfriend to the protagonist? Well, Trevor is that character in so many words. Hmmm, not yet, actually, that comes in the sequel. In this, he's more the POW, to. Proud to be broken.
Played by
Ryan Kwanten
Known
True Blood
Age
32
Bio
He was one of the last choices for Hal Jordan but he was not right for that role. After I thought about it, I figured out that he would play a great, subtle Trevor.

Antiope
Bio
The sister to Hippolyta whose death spurs revenge. Hercules morns the murder of his children and reacts, not with a counter attack, but rather a treaty of sorts.

Played by
Lena Headey
Known
Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles
Age
35
Bio
Heady has the strength to carry herself as a general. She has the fan base to produce excitement when she hits the screen. She has the charisma to create actual feelings of sorrow when she is surprisingly killed off.

Athena
Bio
The Greek goddess of wisdom, war, the arts, industry, justice and skill.

Played by
Linda Carter
Known
Wonder Woman
Age
55
Bio
Her chances of being cast a role in Wonder Woman are fleeting fast. At 55, she is able to play the war goddess in a quick and simple scene. She has stated that, unless her character was meaningful, she would not be a part of any new Wonder Woman. Well, as the goddess that the Amazons worship above all, and the one to hand Diana the lasso, it is a very obvious passing of the torch, and would serve the film wonderfully.

Mala
Bio
As a life-long friend of Diana and a fellow contestant in the competition to bring Trevor and serve as liason, Mala plays an important role in the life od Diana.

Played by
Missy Peregrym
Known
Reaper
Age
26
Bio
Peregrym is my number 2 for Wonder Woman, now (behind Taylor Cole) and then. I thought that is the least I could do was give her a good, strong character in this movie.

Orana
Bio
As the main foil and strongest competition to Diana in the contest, Orana is a combo of herself (the 'New Wonder Woman') and Artemis of Bana-Mighdall.
Played by
Ali Larter
Known
Heroes
Age
32
Bio
She's a great bitch and fearsome as hell. I can't think of a better, if not more obvious, pick.

Other Amazons hi-lighted, but not cast with big name actors are 3 more finalists in the contest...

Aella, an extremely aggressive royal guardswoman, Euboea, another close friend of Diana and Nu'Bia, the general ever since Antiope was killed.

Another Amazon whose role isn't large enough to star a famous actress but worthy of some good scenes is Philippus, the captain of the guard.

Now look, I myself am a bit iffy on the rape by Ares bit, but still, DON'T scream bloody murder!! That's a problem the rest of this country's been having for three years now--people have been seriously blowing things out of proportion, and it's sickening. Paraphrasing something my father once said to me:
"Put brain in gear before operating keyboard."

Using rape simply as a plot device, with no real reason for existence (AT ALL) is crass and tasteless. Do you know why there are so few movies that deal seriously with rape? BECAUSE FILMMAKERS KNOW NOT TO DABBLE INTO IT!!! They're not good enough. No offense, but YOU'RE not good enough. Spielberg isn't good enough!!! I'm not thin-skinned. I just don't like seeing strong, intelligent female characters victimized by writers like yourself. In choosing photos to use in your fancast, almost all of them trivialize the female body and exploit skin. Classy.

If you want to make smutty exploitation, make smutty exploitation. BUT DON'T RUIN ESTABLISHED CHARACTERS(Granted, Hippolyta was ruined already by Amazons ATTACK, but I digress).

Geektality@

U wrote that to Flux but you meant me. Umm u do know that the Gods raped women all the time right? I know she wasn't but u know that was sort of their thing right? And you do know the amazons were bare breasted warrior s who all had huge cheats right? Don't mock my pics by calling them classy when all I have to work with us bare breasted big boomed sword wielding statues and paintings. If I came across as disrespectful towards wen or thinking rape was not serious sorry but you ate blowing this way out of proportion dude.

A god taped her. I don't care how strong one is one cannot over power a god.

There is a purpose to the tape and it will come to fruition in the finale.

I aimed to make Diana unique among the amazons and in depowering them she had to be 1/2 god. The clay thing was weird to me and apparently to the writers of the new 52 since she is the bastard child of Zeus.

You're king a mountain of an ant hill. Dont

Most of my words were auto corrected but I hope it made spence enough.

About the trivilazation of the female body. Ignorant people like u is why Wonder Woman will never make it to movies. She fights in a bikini, which I forbade btw. And it's a one piece she chooses over fighting topless like the myth.

My basis for choosing actresses lay in their beauty strength and skill as an actress and yet to u I trivialize them.

You are pretty ignorant Nd fans of strong female characters like WW have u to thank when we see fail after fail in attempts to create a movie or show based on her.

I suppose u want her to dress like am Islam woman, wouldn't want to show skin and trivialize would we?

Don't worry in Wonder Woman 2 she decides to fight crime in snow pants and a parka. She also aerate a ski mask to hide those sexy cheek bones.
