As suggested by Tony13175 in my Spidey cast, I've decided to do this cast, and definitely had alot fun doing it. If the X-Men were currently under Marvel Studios, this would be my choice of cast.

Director

J.J. Abrams

I usually try to refrain using Abrams as director, but I just couldn't help it. If there has ever been a master of sci-fi in our lifetime, it's him. And just try to tell me that this isn't the perfect movie for him?

Now that we've started, on to the cast!

Professor X - Stanley Tucci

Stanley - Stanleys one of the greatest actors,
and remains very under-rated, though yes his skills
are proven by his various oscars. He was great in the
Devil Wears Prada as well as the Lovely Bones and
would not disappoint whatsoever as Professor X.

Professor - Xavier’s goals are to promote the
peaceful affirmation of mutant rights, to mediate
the co-existence of mutants and humans and to
protect society from antagonistic mutants, including
his old friend, the militant Magneto. To achieve
these aims, he founded Xavier's School for Gifted
Youngsters (later named the Xavier Institute) to
teach mutants to explore and control their powers.

Cyclops - Eion Bailey

Eion - I thought back to Band of Brothers on
this one, to a very charasmatic actor by the
name of Eion. His look definitely has action star
written all over it, and his fantastic acting
makes him perfect for Cykes.

Cyclops - As a young boy, Scott Summers is
orphaned after watching his parents die in a
plane crash. Scott and his brother, Alex, are
the only survivors. Their parents placed the two
boys in the only available parachute and forced
them to jump from the plane just prior to
crashing. The boys become wards of the state
and are separated

Jean Grey - Deanna Russo

Deanna - Ive seen Deannas potential as an
actress in Knight Rider, and she really
deserves a hell of alot more roles. She also
happens to be frickin gorgeus.

Jean - Jean Grey is a mutant born with
telepathic and telekinetic powers. Her
powers first manifested when she saw her
childhood friend being hit by a car.

Angel - Chris Carmack

Chris - I've seen Chris true potential
on the O.C. and the Butterfly Effect 3. That
along with his look makes him an ideal Angel.

Angel - A mutant, Angel originally possesses a
pair of large feathered wings extending from
his back, enabling him to fly. He is the heir
and CEO of the multi-billion dollar Worthington Industries.

Beast - Karl Urban

Karl - karls a pretty badass dude. I
know him best from his roles on Star Trek
and RED, both spectacular performances.
He also has a good build for Hank.

Beast -When first introduced, the Beast -
a mutant — possesses ape-like superhuman
physical strength and agility and oversized
hands and feet, though he otherwise appears
to be a normal human being.

Iceman - Liam Hemsworth

Liam - Yes, hes Chris Hemsworths younger
brother, and a pretty good actor too. I was
watching him in The Last Song, and I thought
he would make for a great Iceman.

Iceman - A mutant, Iceman has the ability of
cryokinesis where he can freeze anything around
him and can also turn his body into ice.
Although he is an Omega-level mutant, Drake
has yet to tap his full mutant potential.

Storm - Sanaa Lathan

Sanna - Shes a very under-rated actress
who put in a great performance in Love and
Basketball. I have nothing but faith that
she'd make a fantastic Storm.

Storm - Best known as a longtime member and
sometimes leader of the X-Men, Storm is the
reigning queen consort of Wakanda, a title
held by marriage to King T'Challa, better
known as the Black Panther.

Rogue - Rooney Mara

Rooney - Rooney's a really good actress
who was great in The Social Network and is
definitely a very promising actress for rogue.

Rogue - Rogue was born as a mutant. More so
than most, Rogue considers her powers a curse:
she involuntarily absorbs and sometimes also
removes the memories, physical strength, and
(in the case of superpowered persons) the
abilities of anyone she touches.

Wolverine - Jeffrey Dean Morgan

Jeffrey - He's definitely so far an
under-rated, solid actor, and I loved his
performance in Watchmen, it definitely
stood out over the rest. As far as height
goes, Jeffrey's stocky so that helps,
and if Peter Jackson could do it then so can J.J.

Wolvey - Wolverine is a mutant, possessing
animal-keen senses, enhanced physical
capabilities, three retracting bone claws on
each hand and a healing factor that allows
him to recover from virtually any wound,
disease or toxin at an accelerated rate

Nightcrawler - Gaspard Ulliel

Gaspard - Gaspard is a great young actor,
who I know best from Hannibal Rising, in
which he gave an epic performance. He
was the first to pop into my head for Nighty.

Nightcrawler - A mutant, Nightcrawler
possesses superhuman agility, the ability
to teleport, invisibility in deep shadows,
and adhesive hands and feet.

Collosus - Armie Hammer

Armie - armie's performance in The
Social Network was really good, especially
when you factor in that hes playing both
brothers. He also stands at 6'5 with a
very good build for collosus.

Collosus - Able to transform into a strong
metallic form, even without his powers he
still cuts a physically imposing figure
standing at 6'7". Throughout the series he
has been portrayed as a quiet, shy character,
honest and innocent.

Emma Frost - Laura Vandervoort

Laura - I chose Laura because of her
role on V, where I thought she would make
an epic Emma Frost. Look-wise shes got
it down, and watching her on V, I see that shes perfect.

Emma - An urbane, mutant telepath with a
well-noted dry wit initially known as the
White Queen (complete with revealing white
attire for which she is known), Frost has
changed from one of the X-Men's most dangerous
foes to one of its most central members

The Brotherhood

Magneto - Hugh Laurie

Hugh - Hugh's probably the best actor
on tv today. If theres ever been somebody
who needed to play a villain, its him,
and magneto is the villain thats perfect for him.

Magneto - A powerful mutant with the ability
to generate and control magnetism, Magneto
has been the X-Men's most prominent enemy
ever since his first appearance.

Mystique - Deborah Ann Woll

Deborah - This sexy young actress is
best known for her role on True Blood,
and watching just that it came to me that
she would be a great Mystique.

Mystique - Throughout most of her history,
Mystique has been a supervillain, founding
her own Brotherhood of Mutants and assassinating
several important people involved in mutant
affairs. Mystique herself is a mutant, a
shapeshifter whose natural appearance
includes blue skin and yellow eyes.

Mastermind - Colin Firth

Colin- I dont think I need to tell you
that Colins a great actor, his osars back
that up. It just kind of came to me while
watching The Kings Speech, that Colin looks
just like Mastermind, and beside that would make a great one.

Mastermind - The original Mastermind was a
mutant with the power to generate complex
telepathic illusions. He was a founding member
of the first Brotherhood of Evil Mutants
and later a probationary member of the Lords
Cardinal of the Hellfire Club, where he
played an important role in the "Dark Phoenix Saga."

Quicksilver - Ben Barnes

Ben - You probably know Ben From his role
in The Chronicles of Narnia, in which hes
probably the most promising actor. I was
just thinking that it would click really well.

Quicksilver - The character first appears
with his twin sister, the Scarlet Witch,
as a part of the Brotherhood of Evil Mutants
in the title X-Men.The siblings are mutants,
with Pietro possessing superhuman speed and
Wanda able to control probability

Scarlet Witch - Evangeline Lily

Evangeline - Anyone whos seen Lost knows
that Lily was great on it, and she also
has cred with Abrams because of that. She
definitely needs to transition to film.

Scarlet Witch - She is the daughter of Magneto,
the sister of Quicksilver, and the half-sister
of Polaris.

Toad - Michael Pitt

Michael - I tried to come up with a creepy
actor for this, but still kinda young. I
think it's safe to say that Pitts creepy as
hell, and he does great on Boardwalk Empire.

Toad - Toad was originally a weak, hunchbacked
mutant, with a superhuman leaping ability.
He was Magneto's sniveling servant in the
1960s line-up of the Brotherhood of Evil
Mutants. He eventually led his own version
of the Brotherhood, which was more involved
in petty crime than mutant liberation.

Mr. Sinister - Robert Knepper

Robert - Knepper's a fantastic chilling
actor. Watching him on Prison Break, I thought
he looked just like somebody, but couldn't
put my finger on it. Then it clicked, Mr. Snister
! Robert would be epic as Sinister.

Sinister - Mister Sinister is a genetically
altered human with superhuman physical and
mental abilities. The character is telepathic,
able to manipulate the minds of others in
various ways, and is capable of energy projection
through telekinesis.

Apocalypse - Peter Mensah

Peter - Everyone seems to cast MCD for him,
but I have somebody else in mind. Mensah is great
actor best known for 300 and hes always fantastic
in Gods of The Arena. I have no doubt he would
make an epic Apocalypse, especially with his epic voice.

Apocalypse - Apocalypse was introduced in X-Factor
as a 5000 year old mutant obsessed with the Social
Darwinist philosophy of survival of the fittest.
The character employs highly advanced technology
in his schemes, such as transforming Angel into one
of his Four Horsemen and infecting Cyclops' son with
a "techno-organic virus".

Brilliant Apocalypse pick, I'm about 50/50 on the rest, which is a lot for me since I like the cast of the previous X-Men films. Not too keen on your Mags pick, I think Laurie would be a better Lizard in a future Spiderman movie

Not my personal favorite picks, this cast is still great! Good job on originality.

-I personally think that J.J. Abrams is overrated, but I do think he would do some cool things with "X-Men."

-Stanley Tucci has never won an Academy Award, and has been nominated for an Academy Award only once. And that was for "The Lovely Bones" (and he was the best part of that movie). I do think he's a decent, and underrated, actor. But, I don't think he'd do well as Xavier.

-I am not a fan of Karl Urban, but I like the fact that you put him as Beast, while most people put him as Wolverine. I think he might do well as McCoy. And, I can't believe you forgot about his little gem of a movie, "DOOM"... LOL

-Sanaa Lathan is an excellent pick for Storm. I really dig "Love & Basketball."

-Rooney Mara is a decent young actress. While she was good in "The Social Network," she was far better in the Law & Order: SVU episode "Fat."

-Great pick for Wolverine. Morgan is a great actor who is greatly underrated.

-Armie Hammer did do a decent job in "The Social Network," but was overshadowed by Eisenberg, Garfield, and Timberlake. I'm not entirely confident that he can pull off Collosus, but the look is right.

-Hugh Laurie as Magneto is good, except I always envisioned that Magneto would be a little better built, and look like he could fair well in a fight. But, Laurie is great, I think he would make for a better Prof. X.

-Colin Firth is a great actor, so I'm with you on this one.

-Evangeline Lily definitely can pull off the look, and I think she would do well in her actual peformance.

-Michael Pitt is the definition of an underrated actor. He does well as the creepy, unsettling villain. Evidence of this is seen in "Murder by Numbers," "Funny Games," and, again, Law & Order: SVU episode "Prodigy."

-That's Sgt. Brodski from "Jason X" (Peter Mensah)... LOL

I dig this cast because of the originality in it. The ones I didn't comment on, I haven't seen enough work to justify judging them. But, I will say that you shouldn't rely too much on "Oscar wins," as evidence of a great actor. Plenty of actors are out there who are better than the actual Oscar winners (Johnny Depp, Robert Downey Jr, Vincent D'Onofrio)...

Nice cast! One of the most original X-Men casts I've seen in a while. Great job!

Love Jeffrey Dean Morgan as Logan! That would be epic!

and your right about Hemsworth, he's a good actor but although he'd be a good Iceman I reckon he'd do a better job as Colossus!

Love your Mystique and Beast picks.. However you know who I prefer as Mags, can't really see House as Eric. But your right. He does need a bad guy CBM role.

Your Sinister is good. Although I prefer Gerard Butler and FANTASTIC Apocalypse!

Your Cykes looks cool enough.

Oh god how I love that pic of Evangeline Lily ;)
